That's not many compared to a few users I know floating around in this group lol, Some are from bookbuzz & a publisher's arc newsletter. I've been side-tracked w non-arc's. Not sure what to read today.Yeah it's best to download ASAP, I missed at least 3 of them before they archived. Which made me sad since I was quite interested in 1.

Haha! lol that is true though. That's why this challenge is quite friendly to all types of NG reviewers, there are no rules just posts with information to keep you accountable and review weekends. It's well appreciated by me, and since it was created was when I first actually discovered NG-cause I've never heard about it before. (and now I'm like slightly obsessed)

I know what you mean, my problem is that my account is also connected to "my" (I won it but mom uses it) kindle that my mom uses so she reads quite a few of ng arc's and then talks about them to me. Though I did find out my mom liked some of the arc's I didn't think she would like.

Finally decided to read this comic strip.

Beginning of the montha: No. of books on the NetGalley shelf~ (unread- 11) (all- 16)

ReviewMy ratio is now at 83%. I hope to finish most of the books on my shelf (I'm at 10 now) because I have over a 100 books sitting at home that need to be read.
Figures, I get to 80% and forget to sign-up.*sigh*
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf:
9
b: What books are on your NG shelf:
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is:
80%
Allrighty, here we go!1. Beginining of the Month:
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf: 26
b: Books I want to review this month:
My goal is to get to a point where I'm posting reviews right around the date they are published. The books listed here are those published in May 2016, so would get me on the path! June only has 5 books, so if I can get through these, I'll almost be caught up. Phew!
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is: 66%
2. Reviews:
Review****
Review ***1/2
Review***
Review****
3. End of the Month:
Your updated shelf count: 23
Your updated ratio: 70% (up from 66%)
So I didn't make it through all the May books. I didn't even make it through the May 3 books. Sigh. I still have three books from May 3, but I'm halfway through one of them. Then there are 5 more to go to get through May. I can do this!
ReviewMy feedback ratio is 24% it would have been a little higher but I got approved for 3 more books
June Netgalley 1. Beginning of the month:
a. 9 books on shelf
b. Books I want to review this month:
Maybe others, but those 3 for sure.
c. Current feedack ratio: 65%
One review down! I loved
: ReviewBrought my percentage up one point to 67 because, I added a few, too! Woops! Heading in the right direction though. ;)
Next up is

Feeling kind of guilty as I've just written a 1 star Review for
I did try to say nice things about it. Just couldn't think of many.
I bought the audio of The City of Mirrors to use in conjunction with my ARC and they don't match up. It is so strange. I am in chapter 17 in the audio and only chapter 15 in the ARC (in part 2 of both). It seems like there are parts missing from the ARC. I wonder if they were added or changed last minute? Anyway, I don't know that using both is going to work for this one.
Kristie wrote: "I bought the audio of The City of Mirrors to use in conjunction with my ARC and they don't match up. It is so strange. It turned out I had already bought the Kindle version and I ended up reading both and they were significantly different. It was really confusing since I got the review copy after I had purchased the ebook.
That's even more strange, Lara! You wouldn't expect to receive an older version. I suppose this is why they tell you not to quote it until you've checked the final version.
Another interesting thing... If I do the math for the audio, timewise, I'm at about 11%. My Kindle reports that I'm at 20%. I don't even know where I'm at for a status update.
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf7
b: What books are on your NG shelf
Books added in June
The Assassin Game by Kirsty McKayc: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is

Side Notes:
I dropped one of my books
I read Click Here to Start but I didnt review it yet so I didnt count it
So I realised that last month, I didn't do this correctly but it was my first time. This month however, I get it!1. At the beginning of the month, post any/all of the following:
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf - 65
b: What books are on your NG shelf - A bloody lot, too many to name them all
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is - 16% because I clearly have a problem.
I am hoping to knock out about 5 NetGalley ARCS
The Dream Killer of Paris - 4/6

I feel a little better about my number now! Good luck!
Oh Cai ... I'll take full responsibility for introducing you to NetGalley :)I have my habit under control now. I've never seen my shelf so lean! (NetGalley diet is working - still have ten reviews to write for non NetGalley books and a handful of review requests from other sources though)
Books on my shelf
- read - need to write review
- to readFeedback ratio - 98%
Renee that feedback % is so amazing and incredible. Congrats on getting so fit and lean in this department. :D ( I'm aspiring to be like you now...)

Yeah, almost ½ or more are archived. I think i have about 48 active.

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Weird thing about this 1 was it doesnt show up in search bar. I could only find the others in this series. I had to hunt it down in my shelf
I finished another! Though, to be fair, it is a cookbook and I skimmed quite a bit, as I don't need to read all of the instructions to every recipe, particularly those I have no interest in trying. 3★
Food52 review
Percentage is back up to 79%.
I also feel a tad guilty for writing a 1-star review. It's sort of a sorry-not-sorry type of deal!

I've been on NG since 2014 but this is my first time joining this monthly challenge! Let's hope it helps me lolBeginning of the month

End of the month

c: Updated shelf count~
d: Updated books to read~
e: Updated ratio~
Question for you experienced NG readers. Why does it matter if you read books before the archive date? Does it hurt your feedback ratio more if you don't review before that date? Or is it just for the principle of it? Thanks for helping me understand :D
Greta - The date you review doesn't affect your feedback ratio. That is just the percentage of books you received that you give feedback on regardless of date. I think it just seems more helpful to get the reviews back quickly and that's a good date to go by. I'm not sure if the publishers have the same expectation.
Greta wrote: "Question for you experienced NG readers. Why does it matter if you read books before the archive date? Does it hurt your feedback ratio more if you don't review before that date? Or is it just for ..."The main thing with the archive date is that if you don't download the book before the archive date, it gets locked away and you can't download it. You can still post feedback on books that have been archived, but if you haven't downloaded it, then you can't.
If that happens, just send feedback that it was unread and unreviewed, or request access to it. The publisher has the power to free it from archive on a case by case basis.
Best tip is to send it to your kindle as soon as you are approved.
Marcelina wrote: "Renee that feedback % is so amazing and incredible. Congrats on getting so fit and lean in this department. :D ( I'm aspiring to be like you now...)"Thanks Marcelina. I've made it a mission of mine to keep my NetGalley under control. I've set a personal limit of ten books at a time on my shelf. I'm currently trying to get an empty shelf (will restock it straight away though).
Ha Renee. I feel stressed about 5 books to have on my shelf. I reviewed two this month but requested and gained 3. Hopefully I'll get this department in my life under control by the end of the month since I'm doing WOBBLE.
Marcelina wrote: "Ha Renee. I feel stressed about 5 books to have on my shelf. I reviewed two this month but requested and gained 3. I'm down to 2 books on my shelf (one different from listed above) and one more request. I think empty shelf might be a bit hard ...

I just posted two reviews, one of which was for a book I got when I first joined last summer. Whew!

Like others, I felt a little bad when I gave one book 2 stars,
, but I really found it was too much--too many characters, too many names, too much cutesiness (it was a children's book), too many adventures, and the hero/father-figure was too much of a womanizer for me to be comfortable with him.
Another book bites the dust!

My review ratio is back exactly where it was at the beginning of the month, a 64%, but although I did request a couple of books (like 3) I also did write review for 3 books. So now I'll have to work harder and just wobble as a chance to just bump it up more so that I can call it sucess at the end of this month.
