5***** To say that I enjoyed this book would be an under statement! It was fun, educational, enlightening, completely and utterly engaging!! We are doing a group read with the children this summer at our library and I think that they will thoroughly enjoy this book! Hopefully as much as I did!! I could not stop reading until I finished it!

Read:

WHEW! I still don't have the words to describe this book. The author did a tremendous amount of research on the 1915 Armenian Genocide, including a two week trip to Syria where he visits the Armenian Genocide Museum and other key places along the route through the desert. The characters in his book are fictional, but the setting and horrors written about are based on historical fact.
It's always difficult for me to read about mankind's inhumanity to each other, especially toward women and children, but there were touching moments in the book that made it well worth the read. History fans will probably get the most out of Bohjalian's work. This is definitely adult material.
Get the audiobook with the author interview if you can. It's very insightful! I found both the audio and ebook through my library Overdrive app.
Updated My Post.

Read:

I hate to see this trilogy come to end! It's been my favorite NR's series to date! Loved the characters! They became like family that I want to visit again. The story was great, the humor kept me smiling and the setting was a character all on its own. So good!
