Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Over in a Flash - hopefully will be a reoccurring challenge.

I stole this idea (with permission) from the SOS: Serious Overload of Series group.

Over in a Flash ~ Cover Hunt & Theme Challenge ~
Duration: June 1st through June 30th.

Rules: Choose at least two (2) of the three (3) options below. (Meaning a minimum of two books.) Color may be the predominant color of the book, or a “pop” of color that catches your eye. Themes are explained. Items may be found on the cover, or the word found within the story-line.

Please feel free to post your book covers, read dates, and star ratings.

You may join at any time during the month. Feel free to do all three, or even more, if you want.

Member Choosing: Brenda, who has been a GoodReads Member since July 2011 and a HEAC member since April 2013, tells us about herself:
“I live in Pennsylvania now but I grew up in New Jersey. I love going to the beach & boardwalk. I like to go to the mall. Not so much to shop but to observe people because the study of psychology just fascinates me. Growing up I watched more than participated because I was very shy. It always took me a while to warm up to people and let them see the real me. I guess because of this a lot of what I like to do can be solitary activities. I love to read, of course. I read my first romance at 15 and I was hooked :) I love to listen to music and going places to hear it live. I love watching wrestling and action movies because growing up I watched that with my dad. We lost him when I was 20, so it's just myself and Mom now. I spent time taking care of her and am now in the process of putting my life together. I plan on going to college and getting my human services degree and perhaps a psychology degree so I can help families.

Favorite Genres & Authors
Paranormal Romance ~ Nalini Singh, Sherrilyn Kenyon, & J.R. Ward
Romantic Suspense ~ Nora Roberts & Jayne Ann Krentz
Urban Fantasy ~ Patricia Briggs (I love the Alpha and Omega series by her) & Kim Harrison.
Historical Romance ~ Amanda Quick & Johanna Lindsey

I don't know how to classify these but I love the In Death novels by J.D. Robb (I love how strong a character Eve is but still loves her husband and I love Roarke, too) and Jayne Castle's Harmony series. I just love those dust bunnies, too cute. :)”
COLOR: Pink and Purple.

JUNE THEMES: (1) 1)National Camping Month - Read a book with a hero or heroine who is outdoorsy. (2) National Go Barefoot Day: {June 1st} Read a book where someone is barefoot on the cover. Read: The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian by Chris Bohjalian |★★★★| Jun 5

WHEW! I still don't have the words to describe this book. The author did a tremendous amount of research on the 1915 Armenian Genocide, including a two week trip to Syria where he visits the Armenian Genocide Museum and other key places along the route through the desert. The characters in his book are fictional, but the setting and horrors written about are based on historical fact.

It's always difficult for me to read about mankind's inhumanity to each other, especially toward women and children, but there were touching moments in the book that made it well worth the read. History fans will probably get the most out of Bohjalian's work. This is definitely adult material.

Get the audiobook with the author interview if you can. It's very insightful! I found both the audio and ebook through my library Overdrive app.

Updated My Post.

Lauren Peters (lepeters) | 80 comments 1/2 done. Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes My Super hero/someone who volunteers her time. I know technically Louisa was paid to help Will, but in my opinion she went over and beyond her job duty's and also in her life with her family and boyfriend. She was always trying to help someone, and often times at her own expense. She was a hero in my book!

Read: Born in Shame (Born In, #3) by Nora Roberts by Nora Roberts |★★★★★| Jun 8
I hate to see this trilogy come to end! It's been my favorite NR's series to date! Loved the characters! They became like family that I want to visit again. The story was great, the humor kept me smiling and the setting was a character all on its own. So good!
