The Golden Tower (Magisterium, #5) by Holly Black
the concluding volume of the Magisterium series for middle grade kids. Somewhat similar to the Harry Potter books, as there are students in a boarding school learning magic, having to fight evil mages.

I seem to be reading a lot of non-cozies this month. Finished earlier this week was Let it Snow, a trio of YA Christmas stories by John Green and two other authors I had never heard of. Loved it!

Now I am a couple chapters from the end of an older rom-suspense, Snow Blind, which is also pretty good.

Crais is one of my favorites. Along with pretty much anything by Michael Connelly and John Sandford's Virgil Flowers series.

Karen M | 1436 comments Read Beartown for my ftf bc and as soon as I finished I put in a library request for the sequel Us Against You. I was left a bit emotional when I finished the book so I have gone on to read serveral of the Little House books and now I've returned to Armistead Maupin with Further Tales of the City

In a romance mood this month, rereading a lot of books (and some new books by authors I follow). I don't really know the reason for this but...

Anita (anitanodiva) | 304 comments It took me forever but I finally finished Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon Voyager by Diana Gabaldon 4-Stars
Sweeping, epic, classic - also long, meandering and filled with minutiae.

Cindy (cindypp) | 168 comments I started My Sister is Missing. I received an ARC on NetGalley and I am liking it so far. I think I have one little mystery figured out, but am waiting to see if I am right.

I have been wanting to read this for a long time, ever since I saw a rave review for it years ago. I loved it; it did not disappoint.

I rotate 3 authors on audio, Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, and Sue Grafton. I'm getting close to being caught up on Robert Crais, but I have several years to go on the other two.

I really despise a certain character in this book...to say more would be spoilerish of me. I read this the first time when it was initially published.

Cindy (cindypp) | 168 comments Currently reading A House at the Bottom of a Lake by Josh Malerman . This is a novella and is marketed as YA horror, but I have seen other genres thrown around. It is definitely creepy.
