Flynn invited her two grandmothers and cousins to spend Christmas with her as a family – after all, it was better than everyone being alone – right? Flynn decided after only two days that she would have been better left to her own devices. And her best friend Ben, who lived next door, was doing his best to support her in the face of the hostility of the family from – where were they from?

Christmas Blue at Flynn’s by Aussie author Angela Verdenius is a light, over the top look at how Christmas can go wrong in the best – and worst – of families. Flynn, Ben, Phoebe the cat, and Scruff the dog were well-crafted characters; the rest were terrible. The story is also in need of editing which was a shame. I was disappointed in this novella, which was my first by this author.
