When You're Not Reading a Cozy . . .
I seem to be reading a lot of non-cozies this month. Finished earlier this week was Let it Snow, a trio of YA Christmas stories by John Green and two other authors I had never heard of. Loved it!
Now I am a couple chapters from the end of an older rom-suspense, Snow Blind, which is also pretty good.

The First Rule by Robert Crais"Crais is one of my favorites. Along with pretty much anything by Michael Connelly and John Sandford's Virgil Flowers series.
Read Beartown for my ftf bc and as soon as I finished I put in a library request for the sequel Us Against You. I was left a bit emotional when I finished the book so I have gone on to read serveral of the Little House books and now I've returned to Armistead Maupin with Further Tales of the City

In a romance mood this month, rereading a lot of books (and some new books by authors I follow). I don't really know the reason for this but...
My review for
The Last Days of the Romanov Dancers by Kerri Turnerhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
It took me forever but I finally finished
Voyager by Diana Gabaldon 4-StarsSweeping, epic, classic - also long, meandering and filled with minutiae.

I started My Sister is Missing. I received an ARC on NetGalley and I am liking it so far. I think I have one little mystery figured out, but am waiting to see if I am right.
The Emerald Sea by Richelle Mead. Last book in the trilogy. Not reading much YA anymore but I enjoy this series.
Currently reading
The Quest for Saint Camber by Katherine Kurtz. This is the third book in second trilogy featuring King Kelson.

Just finished Open Season by C.J. Box
I have been wanting to read this for a long time, ever since I saw a rave review for it years ago. I loved it; it did not disappoint.
Also reading a silly parody--Bored of the Rings: A Parody of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings by The Harvard Lampoon

I rotate 3 authors on audio, Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, and Sue Grafton. I'm getting close to being caught up on Robert Crais, but I have several years to go on the other two.

My final review for 2018 was brilliant -

. This is a novella and is marketed as YA horror, but I have seen other genres thrown around. It is definitely creepy.
I've read a couple of non-cozies this past week.
Flashback by Shannon Messenger
Veronica Mars: Mr. Kiss and Tell

Veronica Mars: Mr. Kiss and Tell"I adore Veronica Mars
Can I explain why I crave a certain genre at a random time, nope so I have no exlanation why I started Fool Moon which is a fantasy/ horror mix and also just had to read Christine. LOL
I'm reading an ARC of Steve Berry's latest Cotton Malone book, The Malta Exchange, and I've already learned a lot about Malta :) Also listening to Long Road to Mercy, the first in David Baldacci's new Atlee Pine series. So far, so good for both books!

the concluding volume of the Magisterium series for middle grade kids. Somewhat similar to the Harry Potter books, as there are students in a boarding school learning magic, having to fight evil mages.
