I've noticed that some books on kindle do this strange thing when you copy a quote - can you remove the "nance," (look for "governance, nance,") in this quote:https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7643...
I just added a quote with a small mistake. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... It should be "to be a soldier" not "to be soldier". If you can fix this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

"Only enter quotes from notable people. Generally, a person is notable if they have been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject."
ETA It's apparently from a song/rap of his: http://testicanzoni.mtv.it/testi-Jin_...
Song lyrics are not allowed, see f.e.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... (801 and 803), and
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... (810)
Deleted.
Since song lyrics are not allowed (see links I posted in msg #5), I supposed that also counts for Bob Dylan? (Even when the lyrics were published in a book: Lyrics: 1962-2001?)F.e.:
From "The Times, They Are A-Changin'": https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1467...
From "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall": https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1920...
From "Talkin' World War III Blues": https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/2958... (but also from the above-linked book)
Can/should they be deleted? And how many likes must a quote have to need deletion by a super?
I'd guess Dylan is pretty notable. He is a writer & lots of books have been written about him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dyl...(Just imho.)
Abcdarian wrote: "I'd guess Dylan is pretty notable. He is a writer & lots of books have been written about him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dyl...(Just imho.)"
Yes, of course he's notable, but if song lyrics are not allowed then neither should his, I think. Unless published collections of lyrics are an exception (personally, I think it's a thin line between lyrics and poetry, see also Leonard Cohen f.e.).
I guess I'm just struggling with what is and isn't allowed as a quote. Maybe I should just steer clear, as I usually do with quote issues :-)
Could a super please edit the punctuations on this Tolkien quote please:https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/3741...
According to this edition in front of me: The Lord of the Rings it should be written:
I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil.
If you need to check, it's on page 1068 in my edition, and would probably be the penultimate or last page of most editions LoTR or The Return of the King. Thanks :-)
EDIT: Also, it should be assigned to an appropriate work: Either The Lord of the Rings, or The Return of the King.

Done.
The punctuation is interesting but it is often forgotten that Tolkien was a total master of the English language.

Thanks - yes he was. Can't argue with the prof!
Screwed up the Captcha on this and ended up with it not linked to a book - could someone link this quote:https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7651...
To this book:

Hello! I tried to add a quote but when I typed in the authors name his books weren't the same. If it isn't too much trouble could you change the source of the quote to John Stephens, The Fire Chronicles? Thank you!Quote:

Done. He is John Stephens with 2 spaces for disambiguation.
The following quotes are directly related to works of Dr. Asa Don Brown and not Tirumalai S. Srivatsan. Please remove Tirumalai S. Srivatsan as being the author of the following quotes, and ascribe the references (quotes) Dr. Asa Don Brown as being the author.
Dr. Brown has being writing for 20+ years and has been quoted in a variety of magazines, journals, books, online forums, etc.

Done and combined and tidied (removed quotes that were basically reviewing his books).

Dear Banjomike,
Thank you for taking the time to review and to edit these quotes. I am sincerely appreciative of your time and consideration.
Respectfully, Tracy
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7662...I pasted wrong tags from my file, sorry. Please correct for me.
Replace "monden, social" with "iubire, love"
Thanks,
Olea
Thank you, Arenda! For whom it may concern only one more:
I have a big problem with the quote
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7662...
I needed to correct it and I tried "remove" it and then "add" the correct one. It did not work :(
So, please, bear with me and help restore it neatly, as follows.
The text of the quote should be:
The author should be:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
(The tags are correct.)
Thanks,
Olea
can someone please delete or correct this quote: "Got some more good out of the" ...its obviously a mistake. https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes...Thanks
Hi … Please change the second paragraph of this quote:https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7574...
From:
People ask, "So, vandalism isn't wrong? Killing isn't wrong?" I answer, "Uneducated people say that vandalism is wrong. Educated people say that vandalism destroys the things that many people have spent their lives making. Uneducated people say that killing is wrong. Educated people say that killing takes away the only thing that matters which is lives." The more educated people are, the freer they will be, and the words 'right or wrong' won't be needed anymore.

Thank you in advance. :)
Hi there. Have a quote that needs 2 quick fixes.https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7672583
The word "payses" needs to be corrected to "pauses". Additionally, the author is listed as Amy Kaufman, but it should be Amy Kaufman & Jay Kristoff for the same book, Illuminae.
Thanks in advance!
#30 Done.#31: Correction made. I'm not sure if two authors can be listed in a quote; leaving for someone who may know.
My paper that proves that right and wrong is nonexistent has been rejected by the philosophical journals of Columbia University and Duke University.I wrote that social sciences and the concept of money rely on the future (something that doesn't exist), and therefore is NOT science, is NOT RIGHT, and should be erased.
Let's spice things up a bit for these so-called geniuses :).
Please change the sixth paragraph of this quote:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7574...
From:
There is, however, a problem with how many educated people there are in the world. In my paper, I prove that right and wrong is nonexistent by showing that everything that exists is not wrong and is not right because everything that exists is the result of the thing(s) that happened before it and everything that exists can’t be right because future doesn’t exist. I wrote that terrorism is caused by capitalism (democracy) and capitalism (democracy) is caused by death.

I added a quote but accidentally linked it to the wrong book in a series. The quote:
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7675...
The book it should be linked to:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
And is there any way to have it linked with the English translation title? "Blood of Elves" is the English title.
And if someone could tell me how to select the English title in future quotes that would be helpful. When I'm selecting books for this author it only lists titles in Polish.

Edited.
The titles of the books in the list are the most popular editions of each book so Krew elfów wins over Blood of Elves or Das Erbe der Elfen. By the same reasoning there is no way to pick a specfic edition or language.
Thanks for the help! It's strange though, because when I look at all the quotes for the book (see link below), it lists some with Polish title and some with the English title.https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes...
Could you please edit this quote? https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7675... It has two typos: "existanța" should be "existența" and "acees" should be "aceea".
Could you also please remove this quote?
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7675...
Thank you!
Iulia, your links don't go to the right place. You may have copy-pasted them from another thread, which won't work.
I have corrected the links above, sorry about that. Would someone be so nice to fix them? Thanks so much!
A typo fix request:It wasn't obvious on the draft, but after publishing, there needs a space between Aedes aegypti and the word 'is'
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7681...
Thank you!
I just finished separating the books of author "Emma Wagner", so there are two profiles now:- https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... (romance author)
- https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... (non-fiction translator)
Could anyone move the quotes from "1305773.Emma_Wagner" to "15306411.Emma_Wagner"?
That way it should be completely separated.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, can someone add the source for this quote?http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/75022...
