Yes, absolutely! ☺

I will add the final people and create teams today. I think I will push back the start date until the 17th, though.
You need to match your books with other members in your group to receive extra points and just write a little blurb about why they are paired together. This can be planned in your team's chat thread. Hopefully this answers your question(s)

Everyone is currently added.
I am going to leave the challenge start date for the 14th, but people may still join up until the last week or so of the challenge ☺

Teams are posted here ☺: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Sharon and Giulia-- There needs to be another member to join for fun and serious, but ASAP, I will get teammates for both of you ☺ Otherwise, I will make a group of three and adjust points.

@Bookbuyer --You can join Team Harry Potter.

You can include graphic novels, but I will count it as 1/3 of a book point because they don't have as many words. You will still get points, and they can still be used in sets, though. So three graphic novels will add up to one point. Hopefully this makes sense ☺

I will put you on hold for a little bit because there is not a pair available. If a spot isn't available, I will add you to a team and adjust points.
However, you can still read books for now and once I get you on a team, I will count the reviews ☺

Yes, that makes sense. Thank you. And can I then group three graphic novels?
Yes, because that was when the challenge officially started and I just didn't add you yet. So yes, that is acceptable ☺

KK. TY! :D

I haven't heard from my partner. So if you need me to I am willing to switch over to a fun team. If that would help?
I will send out a group email tonight to see if anyone wants to participate as a serious member and as a fun member. Otherwise, I will have both you and Nicole added to a team and adjust the points. I am just doing that so no one will need to adjust what they already have planned.

I can send a message to your partner tomorrow to see what is happening with them. It may just be taking them a minute--this is only the second day. Otherwise, you can change to fun if you would like, but I may be able to get another member.

Your bookshelves will help to decide what pair you will be in, so try to be as specific as possible. You can update your shelves as often as you would like to.
In this challenge everyone will be divided into pairs based on their "to read" lists. Please specify when you sign up if you are a speedy reader (10+ books a month), normal reader (6-8 ish books a month), or a fun reader (any number of books). The reason everyone is being divided based on their to read lists is because in the challenge you will be making sets of three of similar books for a boxed set. You will have better odds of creating boxed sets this way.
The challenge will happen by reading books as a pair. When you read books, post the reviews in the review thread for your team. After you read books, you should try to decide how books could be paired together in a three book boxed set. In simpler ways of explaining this, your team will be reading books and you will be trying to see how the books could fit together in a boxed set.
Here is an example:
I read these books:
My team member read these books:
You could choose to put The Fault in Our Stars, This Star Won't Go Out, and After Ever After in a boxed set because they are about cancer and people overcoming cancer.
As long as you explain why the books are being paired when you write in your review link, most pairs are accepted. What is not acceptable is "The main characters are all girls", "They are all in 1st person perspective", or "They are all young adult books". Especially not "they are all fictional books" or "they are all over 400 pages".
However answers can be:
*They are all written by John Green
*They all all dystopian books
*They are all part of the Hunger Games trilogy
Be creative, and think beyond the obvious ☺
Points:
1 point for a book read
2 points for a book read over 450 pages
1 point for a buddy read outside of the group
2 points for a buddy read within the group
3 points for a buddy read within the group with over 450 pages
1 point for a boxed set created
Dates: May 14-June 14, 2016
Books must be at least 150 pages to receive a point. However, you may read books under 150 pages to be put in the boxed set, but you won't get a point for reading the book. You will get a point, though for creating the boxed set.
Hopefully everything makes sense, and feel free to ask questions! ☺
Signups will run every day until the last week of the challenge. However, to guarantee a spot in a pair, you would want to sign up until the 12th-14th, when the teams come out.
