Same old same old. Reminded me of a previous book where helping someone in the past came back to bite Gin in the hooha. The writing is getting a bit transparent with all the familiar dialogue, sentences and phrases. I swear "Gin like the liquor" lost its charm long ago and it's no longer a cool phrase. (view spoiler)

So from the readers point of view there was never any doubt as to whether Deidre was the villain of this piece or not. So the book failed on that point for me. For me it would've worked better if there were never any suspicions in the first place and then Gin found the box fletcher left or she got cause to be suspicious of Deidre. Kudos for dude being one up on gin though. Although it seems that recently everyone stays one step ahead of Gin and it sure is disappointing for me. At the end of the day I know she's gonna get out more or less ok but again the book reeks of predictability. My enjoyment of this series wanes with each installment, but I'll keep going with the hope the next one will be better. So Gin's mother was part of this Circle? I'm not sure how this is gonna pan out but I hope for more answers than questions and a conclusion to the series with the next book, although I'm not optimistic about the latter but one can hope.
