Challenge 2 of 2016: Title Chain!

Hi Amber! Yes, I'm allowing people to break down compound words (such as Songbird) to their two root words, in order to make things a little easier/give a few more options.
Wendy F wrote: "Grem, what about Crown and Crows? Would that count?"Sadly, Wendy, I wouldn't count this. While the letters are practically matching, these words are actually entirely different (as one is a bird or a sound, and the other is an object usually placed on the head of royalty).
If you were to use the word "crown" from one book and "crowning" or "crowned" or "crowns" from another, that would be acceptable, because the base/root word is crown.
Is that more clear?
I'd like to join this one. First round complete!9/9

Looks good to me, Kgprewitt! Welcome to the challenge :)
#45So I just finished my first book of my chain,
.Guys, this book is fantastic! The world-building is AMAZING and the heroine is so badass. I still can't get over it. If you have amazon prime you can read it for free. If you like Throne of Glass or Shadow and Bone I think you should really add this to your TBR list!!
Finished my first
. I will be using the word "White" for the next book in the chain. Updated post #17.
I finished my 2nd and third in the chain (have to wait for the library for #4 unless I break down and buy it)#2 was

Oh my gosh, you guys are crazy! But this sounds like fun, so count me in for 6 books. I'm really lagging this year, so maybe this will pick me up. Don't have a working computer right now, so my blog is defunct and my motivation is a lot less! :(Possible Chain
?????
Finished my 3rd. Updated post 16
Using "blood" from my previous book
(which has a beautiful cover btw)

. I loved it. Can't believe it took me so long, considering how good it was. But, alas, I've been busy. Regardless, I'm moving on to my second with the connecting word being "Six" :
.
Finished book 2:
! I flew through this book. And it was wonderful.Moving on to #3:

I finished #4 and #5 of the 8 I will need to complete the chain.
using ember from the previous book and
using ashes from the previous book.
Sorry to be quiet for so long, everyone, but I was on vacation (and completely off the grid. So delightful!). You all should be updated now! Good work, everyone! I'll jump into this challenge myself soon (at least I'm almost done with book 1).
Finished my first!
It was a really good read! Now tracking down the rest of the books in the chain - I just had to return one to the library (unread) so I might start heading in the other direction. Challenges!!
Just finished
, and all I can say is WOW! I thought it was better than the first book, which I loved. I must admit, I haven't had this big a crush on one of the main characters since I read Outlander almost 10 years ago.
Finished #4 -
. This is adult, not YA.I had to switch it up a bit because the book I was going to read wasn't available, but this fit in perfect! Moving on to #5 -
. Connecting word "Life".Updated original post# 47.
Finished #6 with
using Like from the previous book. I only have two more books to close the chain. I think I am going to take a slight break though because almost all of my books are YA fantasy and the characters and plot lines are getting a bit muddled in my mind. I have been pleased with all the books I've chosen so far there are just too many similarities.
#45So I finally finished my second book in the chain: Crown of Midnight. With school, it took me forever to read this book. Fortunately, my semester is done and I can now resume reading!
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to bow out of this challenge. There are some other books that I really want to read for the summer and the books on my chain are just too gloomy.
Good luck with the challenge everyone!!
I had to change my plans because, once again, the book I was planning to read was checked out. So, I've completely altered my plan and updated my original post# 47 to reflect this. Ugh. Darn people checking out books I want. LOL.So, question. Is Little Women considered Children's or YA? Both tags are on the book page for Goodreads, but it was tagged YA on my library's ebook website, so I'm not sure.
Amber wrote: "So, question. Is Little Women considered Children's or YA? Both tags are on the book page for Goodreads, but it was tagged YA on my library's ebook website, so I'm not sure. "I would count it - I think it's one of those books that fits into Kids/YA & Adult. But I think of it as similar to Anne of Green Gables and I would totally count it.
I lent my third book for this chain to a student, so I'm kind of stalled because they have to be read in order. Attempts to fix up a new chain have been unsuccessful... Hopefully I can catch up when school lets out in June.
Kdbrand wrote: "Updated post #4. I'm so far behind on this challenge!"Me too, Kdbrand! I just finished my second one this morning! (Thank goodness I planned to loop my list, because the 2nd one in the bunch doesn't seem to be coming from the library very quickly - so I had to go in the other direction. Ha!)
Books mentioned in this topic
Blue Lily, Lily Blue (other topics)The Blue Girl (other topics)
The Girl at Midnight (other topics)
The Heir of Night (other topics)
The Sword of Summer (other topics)

But I'm also considering Stolen Songbird.
Gremlin, if I go with this second pick, would I be able to use the word "song" or "bird" as my linking word? I found a couple other YA titles with "Songbird", but they're all single word titles, so I wouldn't be able to link them with anything.
