Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Woohoo! More renters!

And I will be finished with this other 2010 book soon. Going with Numbers (Numbers, #1) by Rachel Ward for this one. Shelved 2010 54 times; on page 17 of 2010 Shelf.

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Atlantic Avenue – Book 1 Complete

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
How it fits: Shelved 262 times as 2010; On page 2 of 2010 Shelf
Date Read: 4/9/16
Rating: 4.5 Stars

This one was really good. Very reminiscent of Groundhog's Day (and the book even mentions the movie) where you get to live a single day over and over. I really didn't like the main character, Sam, at all...at first. As the book went on I liked her more, when she started to be a better person and right some wrongs and all that. In the end I really liked this one.

Book 2 – Complete

Numbers (Numbers, #1) by Rachel Ward
How it Fits: Shelved 54 times as 2010; On page 17 of 2010 Shelf
Date Read: 4/13/16
Rating: 3 Stars

This one was okay. I looooved the concept. Jem can see numbers, which tell the day a person is going to die. I was hoping for more than I got, I think. It was interesting, but at the same time kind of boring for me. I just wanted more.

I now own Atlantic Avenue

I actually thought that halfway into my third beer last night. I had tucked this in a word doc when I had no net access, hopefully my other books will work still....

Book Read: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling
Date: 4/13/16
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: This book was 870 pages but flew by! JK Rowling is such a genius! It also helps that I have a bad memory and it had been many years since I read this the first time. Many of the details I had forgotten. It was a pleasure to reread this!

How it fits: #4 on the Re-read list

This one is a reread for me. And of course I loved it! I hated angsty Harry, and Umbridge of course...but this series is amazing. And they keep getting better! I can read these again and again.

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Greta wrote: "Wow, was that in one day? I envy your reading speed!!"

Technically I started it yesterday, but hadn't gotten very far in as I read another book at the same time. But I read it for Clash of the Carnies (and Life at Hogwarts)....and Battleship...and maybe Bingo (if it works). XD So I tried to get through it quickly. :)

message 374: by Maddie (new)

Greta That's good, Maddison!

My current book doesn't count & we will see about the one after. Have to play it by ear with all these other challenges.

message 379: by Maddie (new)

Ohhhh. It's a Friday and since I updated so late for last week, I don't have anything that fits.

message 386: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Ack! Now I'm an entire week behind. Bad Amber, no biscuit. I'm thinking tomorrow gets to be Amber Reads All Day day. Contemplating reading The Miserable Mill (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #4) by Lemony Snicket for last week's roll. Nice quick one. ^_^

message 387: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Haha I love those books!

I'm 2 weeks behind, I think. I've got to start and finish Chasing Spring, and then I can roll for the 7th, start and finish that book, and then roll for the 14th. But it'll probably be a while before I read Chasing Spring.

I've already rolled for the 7th, but haven't finished anything that would count yet (I was working on my book for the First Impressions challenge and kinda forgot). So, two books before next week? Challenge accepted. ^_^

message 389: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Haha lucky you. I don't know when I'll get to my book, but I need to because I don't want to get too far behind and have to quit like my other game, so I'll try to make Chasing Spring a priority so I can then roll again and hopefully read to own a property. I don't own any yet.

She put that it has received quite a few 1 and 2 star reviews. 1 star is a pretty good indicator of the stink factor.

message 399: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Ah yeah. I need to read a stink book for one of my other games.

Review: I'm glad I enjoyed this book :) It was an easy light read, and I'm reading more of those lately. They don't require much thinking, but I find I'm really able to get into them. I liked the way (view spoiler) One thing I do agree on, though, is how Lilah (view spoiler) Anyway, I liked the way that ended, and I also liked the swapping of POVs as well as the time jumps.
