Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Ah okay. So what do I need to do? Do I need to read a book she recommends to me?

Yes ma'am

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Finally going to try to get to my two books tonight. Of course nothing I've read so far is a 2010 book, but I have one lined up...not sure about the second.

Do you want recommendations? Or just have to scrape something up?

message 255: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Alright. I've messaged her, seeing as she doesn't get on this thread much. I'll post here what she's recommended. It'll take me AAAAGES to get to though seeing as I have so many other books to read and I mostly just read something and hope it fits for challenges :p

message 256: by Greta (new)

Greta Gnat be you could ask if she'd recommend all her 5 star reads? That way you have some options :D

message 257: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Maya wrote: "Do you want recommendations? Or just have to scrape something up?"

I'll find something. Just checking to see what other challenges I can fulfill and whatnot! :)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Chasing Spring it is, then. I shall request it now.

Greta Completion Post-

Property: Vermont Ave, paying rent to VampAmber
Need 2 books to complete.

Book 2 done, rent is paid!

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare , shelved 307 times as Wishlist and on page 4 of the shelf.

Date: 4/5/16
Rating: 4 Stars

Review: It's been a while since I read book 2 but I remember not enjoying that one as much. It took me a while to settle back into this world and remember what happened with the characters. After I got over that the story picked up and ended up being really good. Many of the plot elements were predictable but sometimes that is enjoyable.

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments If you don't have a book to read from your chance card, I thought you could roll again straight away?

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments Maddison wrote: "Haha that one sucks. I've been stuck on it for ages on another game."

I've actually got one sitting on my bedside table that's ready to be read, Gemini. At least the first chunk of it takes place in the hospital. I just have to find a way to make it fit other challenges as well

message 272: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Oh lucky!

message 273: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments I try to have a variety of stuff on hand at all times, in case of something like this. I've actually been stuck on one that is "Read a book with a hat on the cover" for like three weeks without realizing that I HAVE BEEN READING THAT BOOK FOR FOREVER. >.<

message 274: by Greta (new)

Greta Thanks god the suggestions, Maya!

message 275: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Oh woah! Yeah I'm stuck on that book as well.

That's what I'm here for :D

message 277: by Greta (new)

Greta Uprooted looks great! Let's hope the library has the ebook!

message 278: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments Greta wrote: "Uprooted looks great! Let's hope the library has the ebook!"

It is SO GOOD. It came right after I read a 1 star book, so it was very refreshing.

message 279: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments I've got it from the library too, but I haven't read it yet.

message 280: by Greta (new)

Greta Ugh, not available right away and I'm not paying for it :-( Boo, that one really looked good. I will keep searching though.

message 281: by Greta (new)

Greta Would you all consider a friendship that's very strong to be chemistry? I am looking at Bridge to Teribithea & haven't read it so don't know if it would count. Not sure how old the kids are.

message 282: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments I don't know that I'd consider it electric chemistry. That almost infers a sexual relationship

message 283: by Greta (new)

Greta Lol- I figured not but I guess i had to try!

message 284: by Greta (new)

Greta I am going to read- Invisibility by Andrea Cremer

It fits this, yellow & stand alone :-)

message 285: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Woah lucky pick!

message 286: by Greta (new)

Greta I know, and it was available at the library. It's good so far.

message 287: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Do you read books specifically for challenges? I'm surprised you've just found your book and are already reading it!

message 288: by Greta (new)

Greta Yes, this one was not on my tbr & I'm reading it just for the challenges. I try to read books on my TBR whenever I can.

Do you mainly stick to your plan or TBR though?

message 289: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments I mainly stick to my library books :p I always have far too many library books out, hence why I have so many books I own that I haven't read. There's 300 I haven't read I own.

message 290: by Greta (new)

Greta Ah, ok! You must have a big limit at your library! I'm pretty much just reading Kindle books now. I have access to 3 library systems so I can get many ebooks that way :D

message 291: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments The limit's 30, and I never even read them all. I end up having to get them out multiple times haha.

Greta Completion Post:

Roll #3: Electric Company

Task: Read a book where the characters have electric chemistry.

Book Read: Invisibility by Andrea Cremer
Date: 4/8/16
Rating: 4 stars
Review: I was really surprised how much I liked this book! I thought the characters were well developed and I think the authors did a great job of exploring all the feelings and situations that would arise with having a MC who is invisible. While Stephen and Elizabeth did have an electric chemistry (it even mentioned the electricity between them), it did feel a little like insta-love, so that is my only criticism- that, and that it's a standalone and I'd like to hear more about the world and what happens with the characters.

I now own Electric Company.

message 293: by Greta (new)

Greta It's Friday, so I'm going on to Roll #4- 6 + 6 = 12

Landed on Illinois Ave, Owned by Amanda

Rent is 3 books from the Re-read shelf, phew!! Will come back to choose my books.

message 294: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Part of the way through my pick for last week (went with Cat's Cradle, since I needed it for two other challenges). Thankfully I have absolutely nothing to do this weekend, so I should be able to finish it, and hopefully a lot of whatever book I pick for the roll I should've made today.

message 295: by Greta (new)

Greta Btw, Amanda. Why do you charge so much for rent?!

message 296: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Greta wrote: "Btw, Amanda. Why do you charge so much for rent?!"

LoL, ummm...cause it's right next to the railroad? Prime real estate there. XD

message 297: by Delitealex (new)

Delitealex | 694 comments I have a book in mind but don't think I'm gonna get to it soon. Are there some books you all think stunk. Preferably fantasy/sci fi or romance.

message 298: by Amanda (last edited Apr 08, 2016 08:37PM) (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Delitealex, did you ever get through Hidden Wings (Hidden Wings, #1) by Cameo Renae on the YA Book Gang challenge/book of the month? That one I thought stunk. Or Wings (Wings, #1) by Aprilynne Pike . That one wasn't actually too bad, but something about it just didn't sit right with me.

Edited to add that both of these I rated 2 stars.

message 299: by Greta (new)

Greta Fantasy- The Black Company- stunk, DNF for me :-(

message 300: by Greta (new)

Greta Ok, I see! I think rent just keeps going up from here though!!
