Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Hehe, yay! So glad you all like it. And that it's useful!

But thanks to Maddison for creating the spreadsheet to begin with. I wasn't going to do it until she actually created the thing. :)

Ahaha, Teresa, I'm sure they will! XD I got lucky and was able to get my Life book out of the way. But it felt weird getting it done super quick! It threw off my whole week. XD"

That happened to me one of the weeks where I missed the Friday update but finished my book on Saturday. It was weird! I kept feeling like I missed something.

message 103: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments I haven't even started this roll's book. May start it in a few hours, we'll see :p

And thanks for that mention, Amanda :p But you actually did all the work :p

Haha, no problem! And I haven't started my book, either.

Yeah, it definitely throws things off once you get into a routine and miss a check in.

message 105: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments I'm not sure when I'll get around to it either. I like the idea of the spreadsheet so I'll know how far behind other people I am :p

message 106: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Haha, that's a good way to look at it! Keep track of where everyone is. :)

message 107: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Yeahp, also alerts us if someone's reading too fast.

And by Friday rolls, does that mean we don't roll again until next Friday? Or what?

message 108: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments I was thinking this Friday, the 25th for the next roll if we finish our first books by then. But then keep it to Fridays.

But not sure what everyone else was thinking!

message 109: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Okay so we should roll again on the 25th? For me, that's tomorrow. I probably won't even have started my first book then. But that's good. It'll give me more leniency later on. I'll try and read Throne of Glass next week so then I can have a roll.

message 110: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Tomorrow's the 24th for me.

I don't know, can we see what everyone else thinks?

message 111: by Greta (new)

Greta I haven't started my book yet. Working on a different one but as long as you keep it to Friday's after this I'm fine. I don't think you're supposed to roll until you have finished your previous turn though.

And I believe Maya would be waiting until next Friday to roll again, right?

Right, after our book is finished for this roll.

Not sure what the plan was. She just said Friday.

message 113: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Yeah we can only roll once we've finished out current book.

And I don't think we should put exact limits on when we can roll, because some books take longer than others, and maybe Maya was just lucky with that roll. If she reads her next one, the roll after that one may take longer to complete. So I feel like we should just aim for a book a week, but if we go over or under we shouldn't need to wait to roll again. Does that make sense?

message 114: by Greta (new)

Greta Yep that's fine :-)

I'm really not in it to win it, just here for the fun so I'm cool with that.

You're good, Maya!

message 115: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Haha, yup, I'm cool with that.

message 116: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments Okay coolio :) I'll try and start Throne of Glass this weekend. I should be able to.

message 117: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments I was planning on rolling on Friday. Unless I get SUPER lucky with my other Friday challenges, I should be about the right pace. Worst case I sit for a week without rolling. :P

message 118: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments You plan on finishing another book by Friday, Maya?

I'm 3 chapters into my book.

message 119: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments Maddison wrote: "You plan on finishing another book by Friday, Maya?

Probably, but I'm a super fast reader when I actually have the time to read. And I'll be up doing laundry tomorrow night, soooooo means lots of reading downtime. That's why I'm cool with doing one a week - I can aim to get it out of the way and still have time to chat with all of y'all: D

message 120: by Greta (new)

Greta What Are you reading Maddison?

message 121: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 3778 comments But you'll be onto your third book by Friday, when some people haven't even started their first. Does that mean you'll have one week off reading?

I'm 5% through Throne of Glass. I'll be reading that from now on. Hopefully have it finished before long.

I'll be on my second book. My roll that I did for TN AVE will count as my Friday roll

message 123: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments Sorry, I had been confused. My bad. Yeah, that's my roll for "Friday "

message 124: by Greta (new)

Greta See I thought that was what you were saying but I was confused :-)

message 125: by Greta (new)

Greta Hope you like it Maddison! I'm curious to hear what you think.

message 126: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Just finished my book for the first roll, You Wish by Mandy Hubbard .

This was such a cute book, and went as well as the back blurb made it sound like it would (it's always so refreshing when that happens). The characters were nice and quirky, just the way I like them, and you gotta love that HEA. I can definitely see why a lot of people would have this on their wishlist, it was totally adorable. Wouldn't have minded one or two of her wishes for myself...

So, now I own Vermont Avenue. Yays! Do I roll now and wait until Friday to start reading, or do I wait til Friday to roll?

message 127: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments It's your call! I'm making sure to keep my books to once a week, but you can make up your own rule

Delitealex | 694 comments Changing my book to Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle luckily I found it on the list and I'll be done soon.

message 129: by Greta (new)

Greta Any tips for finding books on the shelves?? I know how to see what lists a book is on but not the shelves without just looking through them all.

message 130: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Greta wrote: "Any tips for finding books on the shelves?? I know how to see what lists a book is on but not the shelves without just looking through them all."

I scroll through quickly, and look for any that are on my lists (since the bar at the right is a different color then). Then I choose from the ones on my TBR list (or occasionally, one I've already read that I really want to reread).

message 131: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 464 comments What was suggested by someone is to take the book you're already reading, look at it's genres for the shelf you're looking for, and then finding that number on the shelf linked on the game. It's what I've done so far.

message 132: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Oh, and I rolled tonight, so that I have more time to pick and read it by next Friday. This last book was a fluke, because it ended up being so good I had a hard time putting it down. Usually, it takes me a week or two to finish a book.

Anyway, I rolled a 5 (2+3), and that landed me on States Avenue. Off to find something interesting from the Maybe Shelf. ^_^

I check the book I'm reading for the shelf.

message 134: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments I'm leaning towards reading Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin for my space, but as I've learned during the almost year that I've been part of TCF, it's best that I make no promises.

message 135: by Greta (new)

Greta I'm still working on a different book...and I checked all the pages 80+ and it didn't have the shelf...oh well, it's a good read anyway.

Delitealex | 694 comments Finished roll 1
Red Fox (Experiment in Terror, #2) by Karina Halle

Enjoyed the action. Loved learning more about Dex and Perry. Trying to figure out who was causing allof the incidents definitely kept my attention. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Yay I own Oriental Ave

Thanks all!

Greta Finished my book for Roll #1.

Changeless by Gail Carriger. 5 stars

Review- loved it!! I loved the quirky humor, characters & plot. This series is so fun! A welcome break between from the more serious fantasy I enjoy.

I now own Baltic Ave.

Greta First book I'll be reading for my rent is: The Vampire Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles, #2) by Anne Rice , shelved 63 times as wishlist on page 49 of the list.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) Completion
Roll #1: 4+1=5: Reading Railroad
For Reading Railroad – Read whatever you want.
Revival by Stephen King
Finished 3/26/16
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review: I liked the main character, Jamie, and his life story but the pastor and his electricity fascination just went over my head or lost my interest. I'm not sure. This is a hard book for me to review. I just liked it as a tale of a man's childhood memories, his family and then later his struggle with addiction and even the relationship he had with the pastor but again, all the electricity stuff was just beyond me.

I now own Reading Railroad

If a player lands on an “owned” railroad, the owner will recommend a book for that specific railroad.
