Pretty good. I thought the narrator of the audiobook did a good job. I'm not a big fan of multiple POVs. Especially if it's really random. You get the POVs from both MCs (which I'm good with) then every once in a while a different POV just pops up willy nilly from a secondary character. But honestly even without those I don't think I would have liked it more than I did. Better than okay but not great. Forgettable.

This is such a great series. And Gomez Pugh is a fantastic narrator. I love his voice. This book was a little slower in the middle than the other books but I still loved it. My only eh? moment came at the end when (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I was reading ;)
I'm hoping for one of the reader related shelves or one of the series related ones!

Sorry I've been MIA. I came to a conference this week for work and usually the days are pretty unstructured but WHOOOOOAAAA it's super structured at this one. Starting at 8 AM and ending around 9 PM each month.
It's done Friday around noon so again apologies for not checking in, I just didn't anticipate the time constraint this week! I'll be back in business in a couple of days and update everything.
Thanks also to Krissy for posting this week's shelf!

Review: Pepper was kind of a spoiled brat which took away some enjoyment of the story. The reality TV show on graveyard restoration was a neat twist. This ghost asks Pepper to prove him innocent of murder and she manages to investigate with all this going on.

Final Thoughts:
Such a super sweet book. Actor, Jason, is fed up with current acting gigs and decides to buy a house in the middle of nowhere. Finds out his house is haunted-ish. Well, a spirit-like guy (Ben) is trapped in a snow globe that happens to be in Jason's new home. They get to know each other and of course fall in love. Ben was such a sweet character and I thought he was adorable. Gotta say Dylan turned out to be a really good friend. I liked his character and wouldn't mind reading a book with him as the MC sometime in the future.

I'm confused. I have to say the date in the post here in this forum? Or I have to set the date in my review? Because I did set the date to April 1st in my review of the book (see below)

It has been a long time since I read the previous book and I was not liking Pepper at all. She was behaving like a spoiled brat. However, by the end, I liked the cast from the show enough to bring it up to 3 stars.
Pepper considers herself a PI for the dead and this time is asked to prove the innocence of a man convicted of murder 25 years ago, while being a team captain on a reality show about restoring a grave yard (forced to by work). The show is very unbalanced as one team is all socialites a ...more

I enjoyed the 2nd book in this series much more than the first book. I figured out the bad guys pretty early on but Halle kept me second guessing myself throughout. Perry and Dex both still annoy the crap out of me but I feel like there is something building. Mild creepout factor in this one. I will definitely keep on going.

Review:
I purchased this book in the height of my one-click addiction and like many others I had, didn't know it existed until I started perusing the shelves for something to read that wouldn't break the bank. So this book ended up being a 2.5 star read for me mostly because I thought the hero was a big jerk at first and couldn't really get past that. Analia was nice in the way I'm super innocent, everyone wants to take care of me way. And I had a lot of interest in finding out the mystery of her identity but other than that she's your typical innocent, blossoming heroine.
Overall story was okay. I found it to be a bit much at first that these were space demons but hey I love fantasy I accept that as truth. There are some odd moments like the hero first discovers Analia on the ship and he thinks to himself "Her features were not the features of a poor woman". Like what does that even mean? Is there a particular kind of nose or set of lips that wealthy people have?
Also (view spoiler) Give the poor girl some time to recover DANG!
There are some interesting nuggets of stories forming for the other characters but I can't say I'm compelled to spend money to read more. Aliens aren't really my cuppa either.

Final Thoughts:
I liked it but it wasn't my favorite of the series. In fact it was probably my least favorite. Which saddens me because I love both MCs as individuals and as a couple. I just thought the last 30% or so seemed to drag on forever. And I figured the issues with Paul's family would have been more of a problem in the story than they actually were. They came in, made a scene, Paul pouted for a bit and freaked out on some stuff, then got over it.

Diane I need to continue that series! I think I'm on book 5. I might try to fit that in for the next shelf :)

What to say about this read...
Harry is the world's most world-weariest wizard. There were so many heavy sighs both implicit and explicit. Harry reminds me of that depressed robot from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. At first I rolled my eyes at the story because I thought it was headed down this path toward the mafia being a focal of this book at which point I was ready to classify it as a mystery/crime thriller with a character who happened to be a wizard but it stayed true to genre of urban fantasy, albeit a rather boring one. There moments that dragged and coupled with Harry's world-weariness it made for a slow moving story. I appreciated that as a first book, the info dumps weren't horrible. It was actually well written IMO but just a tad bit boring. I also have to say I tend to find witches/warlocks/ghost stories the most boring in the genre.
It has a very popular following and I can't say I wouldn't be open to reading another story in the series to see if I truly don't like it however I can't say that that would happen any time soon.

About book 3 and definitely book 4 the series started getting great for me. Harry stopped being such a loner and found some supernatural friend (and enemies). If I hadn't read a short story that I enjoyed set much further in the series, I never would have read past book 1.

Good to know! I'll place it on my price drop list and pick them up if they go on sale. I know they are a part of audible sales sometimes too.

review: Merit is becoming someone who needs rescued instead of being the one who rescues, which is annoying. The supporting characters are awesome as always. The GP is clueless as always. And fire-bombing and riots are happening. It was nice to see one plot point seem to finally wrap up.

What a silly book yet I want to know who A is. These are terrible girls who all need to be grounded. I totally see why this is a guilty pleasure for people and now I will have to keep going to see what happens.

review: when an alien comes back to Earth to save it and the girl he fell in love with he runs into troubles when said girl is now a State Senator and is dealing with false accusations against her family and trying to keep a low profile. Cute story where they spend a lot of the time on the run from different threats.
