Ronesa Aveela (aveela) | 64 comments I don't have any other non-fiction books, but he can choose a different book I have (two are really short children's stories, and one is a romantic fantasy).

Molly McHugh | 56 comments I would like to join this non-fiction review group.

Me on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4...

My book is: Bipolar 1 Disorder - How to Survive and Thrive

On Amazon for 99 cents - I will buy anyones at 99 cents in exchange, so Amazon reviews are 'verified purchase' - http://www.amazon.com/Bipolar-Disorde...

Not sure if that is allowed... am new here. thank you!

Emma Jaye | 3693 comments Welcome Molly.
We exchange book files via email, but if your book is in KU, some people may download it that way. Of course, people can buy it if they wish, but that is a personal choice and we do not encourage it.

Authors have to be able to provide at least PDF files, but may also be able to profile mobi (kindle) or epub.

You'll need to add your goodreads book link and your author link, at the moment you have a 'user' profile not an author one.

Once your book is on goodreads (you can add it yourself) you can claim the author profile by scrolling down the book page and clicking 'this is me'.

John Wood | 37 comments Emma, I have two other nonfiction book possibilities that Antony could review. How to Write Attention-Grabbing Query and Cover Letters (Writer's Digest, 1996) or Saigon Tease: So, What Did You Do in Nam, Dad? (Amazon Kindle, 2014). Here are the GR links:

Of course (would never expect anyone to buy anything) but I do not do KDP program so can't offer it free, and many others do exchanges with 99 cent books.

I don't think 'unverified reviews' are of value and I would worry now with all the Amazon monitoring going on, maybe a bit of a red flag.

message 60: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3693 comments Its been working on this group for several years Molly, and there is nothing stopping people putting a review on amazon for something they didn't buy there. There are so many outlets for Ebooks these days that many people buy books elsewhere and put reviews on amazon.

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to accept PDF. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines.

When you have posted your reviews, please post the three links to your reviews in this thread.

All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.

To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). Happy reviewing, everyone :)

John Wood | 37 comments Emma, there is a problem. I'm to send my book to Anthony Stancomb, but he's already reviewed my book before (on his own, apart from any review groups).

Ronesa Aveela (aveela) | 64 comments Molly McHugh, I wasn't able to send you a message on Goodreads. It looks like you may have your account set to private. Please direct message me your email address so I can send you a PDF copy of Light Love Rituals (your round 3 review). Thanks.

message 66: by Ronesa (new)

Ronesa Aveela (aveela) | 64 comments For my round 1 to Anthony, I will send a copy of "A Is for Adverb" by Aliya Smyth since he has already read my listed book. I don't have another non-fiction book to submit. Thanks.

Mike Robbins (mikerobbins) | 551 comments Hi everyone - now that Emma has posted the running order, I take over as moderator for this round. I will be tracking progress and trying to keep the group on schedule. But I am also here to help with any queries or problems you may have.

As Emma says, reviews should be posted on Goodreads, Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. You can help me a lot by posting the links to all three reviews at once, and by ensuring that you are giving the links to your actual review, not the book's page. Both Amazons will send you the links to the review when they have posted it. It should not take long.

Some of you will already have experience reviewing, and everyone has their own approach. But if you do want some useful advice, there is a nice piece by one of the group's former moderators, Jay, called What is a review and how to I write one? It's here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I also recommend this:
https://janruthblog.wordpress.com/201...

If anyone slips behind on their reviews, they will get a polite private note from me asking how they're doing. There is sometimes a very good reason why people fall behind (family crises, illness, alien abduction, dead laptop) but try and let me know if you need more time.

I hope you all enjoy this round and find it useful. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know, either by posting here or by messaging me.

Yes, Anthony can review Revolution Earth, it's a thriller but I don't have a spare non-fiction book for review. Hope this is okay.

Cheers,

I have another nonfiction just out for Anthony, New Darwinian Laws Every Business Should Know, or a novel, Invivo, if he would prefer that. Let me know and I can email him a PDF.

Alison Cubitt (httpgoodreadscomlambertnagle) | 83 comments I have messaged Molly to ask her what format she'd like and where to send my book but I don't know how to message Kristian to ask him the same thing. I did put this as an Ask A Question on his page.

Everyone, it's up to you to get your books to the reviewers; please contact them. I think we have a particular problem with this group as it has taken time to get going, and some of you may not have noticed that it now has.

Also Amazon gifted books gifted from Canada can't be claimed on .co.uk.

Of course (I would put up as free but can't as am not in kdp) - just is always better to get verified reviews, and I will be checking Amazon pages for others books, anything 99 cents or free will 'buy' so is verified.

I have no idea if this is a legitimate concern, but with Amazon's new 'author review monitoring' just wonder if having a bunch of unverified purchase reviews is some kind of a flag (that folks are giving them out to family and friends, etc. which Amazon doesn't allow).

Ok - no more of that! On to reviewing, sorry for delay and what a great group :)

That's an interesting question Molly. I am not aware of any problems like that yet, and of course people do review books on Amazon that they have bought but not there (I do). But Amazon do periodically tighten up on reviews they suspect are paid-for or reciprocal. So far they've only gone after egregious cases.

message 91: by Mike (new)

Mike Robbins (mikerobbins) | 551 comments Yes, you'll find the link to the Goodreads page for the book in the original sign-up list, on page 1 of this thread.

For Amazon, I just copy the exact title and copy it into the search box on the front page. Nine times out of ten, the book will then appear; if it doesn't, check you're not searching in consumer electronics or pet care!
