You're not alone Anna. I'm still trying to plow through The Road Less Travelled. The seminal work on life, relationships etc - 1970s. I'd include a cover link but there's lots of books with the same title (how so many can be pub using the same name I have no idea) and I'm having a moment re the author's name.
Can't believe I read this when I was at school. Interesting yes, but factually dense.
Ah, The Road Less Travelled, and marching to the beat of a different drummer - they certainly resonate with me and after taking a look at your profile, I can see why you are reading TRLT. At least you have lots of books written to excuse you for reading an interesting book rather slowly.I must try harder, I must try harder, I must...
I'm reading The Wolf in the Attic by Paul Kearney. Excellent tale about a child refugee from war torn Europe in England. The story has just got all dark and a bit gothic. Lovely!
Some great books being read at the moment - I'm reading Out of the Ice by Aussie Ann Turner and I'm really loving it!

I enjoyed that one when I read it back in 2007 ... hope you do too!

It's been a busy week for me and same for this weekend so reading is a bit slower than I would like, I'm still reading You by Caroline Kepnes and it's pretty creepy...not sure who is actually stalking who! (⊙_☉)

I just picked that one up from the library today. I think it was Carolyn who gave it a really good review and Michael did too.

and I don't think it is going to happen since I've read 70% of it so far. I will persist with it though because not finishing a book always grates on me!

Hate when that happens Katie! I always think about all the good books I could be reading instead:)

Just started reading
Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman. Have been swept into her world immediately. I do love Fredrik Backman's work!

aha i have found where you are now on a new thread. been wondering why there has been no new notifications for a while.
Has anyone else read The Flight of dreams by Ariel Lawhon? For the first time in a while I have not been able to finish a novel. I found it boring and kept thinking when are we getting to the explosion of the Hinderberg ship.

I thoroughly enjoyed it Jo. A great historical fiction novel which was admittedly a little slow in places, but I definitely wanted to keep reading :)

Yes Brenda it was slow more than boring. Anyway 2 books on reserve came up for me to borrow and had to abandon this book. Just my luck 2 reserves come in together!!
I am enjoying The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell. A heap of unlikeable characters but I have to keep reading to find out what happens!
I started reading Why You Are Australian: A Letter to My Children this afternoon - getting through it fairly quickly. It's making me feel strongly nostalgic for the Australia of my childhood.
I've picked up Blood & Beauty: The Borgias by Sarah Dunant but it's not suiting my mood at the moment so might try something else today. I probably need some escapism so might give one of the Sarah Waters books a re-read today.
Just this morning I started The Bones of Grace: A Novel, not at all what I expected, I am quite enjoying it.

I love Minette Walters - have read all her books and she is the main reason I got into reading crime as I wouldn't read it for years.
This one is about the housing estate set in England - brilliant portrayal about living in poverty, seething racism, well any sort of ism really and how crowd mentality takes over from reason.

I haven't read that one Katie but the ones I have read have all been really good.

Loving it so far
I'm reading Prodigal Son by Danielle Steel. What can I say?! Lovely new copy from The Whisperer.. ;)
Picked up Blood & Beauty: The Borgias by Sarah Dunant yesterday after an earlier false start with the novel. Happy to say I am now firmly entrenched in Rome, 1490s and the machinations of the Borgia family, particularly Rodrigo but also very interested in the son Cesare.
