Phrynne, if they happen to be offering the prequel, Varg In Love as "read now" you should grab that too.

Wow, will look forward to that one and have recommended it to my sister.

Thanks for the info Marianne. I just got it for 99c from Amazon.

Yes, the first book of a new series with a prequel I can see on Amazon AU but at $1.64 for 13 pages it's a bit rich... although, when I check, I paid $1.15 for in 2013, LOL

13 pages? You could just about type that out for us on Teaser Tuesday! 😆
Phrynne said in her review it was 23 pages! But yes, with that amount of pages it should be free!

I was going on the Amazon data.
Yes, you'd think that small a taste ought to be free but I paid for it, which says something about my respect for Alexander McCall Smith's writing

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay
Hangman by Jack Heath
And finally, in the attempt to have it read before the end of the year ...
Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

Laura Lake and the Hipster Weddings by Wendy Holden $2 Thought this would be a light, easy plane read
The Happy Cookbook: 130 Wholefood Recipes for Health, Wellness, and a Little Extra Sparkle by Lola Berry $5
My Kitchen: Casual Cooking at Home by Pete Evans $6
I love ❤️ cookbooks and finally for my friend who collects Marilyn Monroe stuff
Marilyn Monroe by Editor-Paul Duncan $5

Congratulations Phrynne! Will look forward to your review!
(I've asked for it from NG but since Hachette has never approved me, I've also pre-ordered it from Amazon)

True but at the same time it is less than half the price of a cup of coffee and I got more pleasure out of the story than I would a drink:) Also as Marianne says I really respect this author!

I certainly didn't expect to be approved for this one!!
The Department of Sensitive Crimes by Alexander McCall Smith

Snap! What a surprise. I guess I'll be forking out for the short story after all.
Oh good for you! Hachette on NG is so hit and miss with me. I just looked as I still have 2 pending from them and one of the "pending" ones has already been archived!! :(

The Lost Girls by Jennifer Spence
At the Wolf's Table by Rosella Postorino
and
The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker

None for me this time :(
My copy of The Rosie Result arrived while I was overseas. I was very happy that my neighbour took it in and looked after it so it didn't get ruined in the rain.

Finished it yesterday. I hope you enjoy it too :)

Me too! My first ever from Hachette! I'd stopped asking them until this came up.

Mine hasn't arrived yet and I've been home over Christmas/New Year, although it should have arrived before then. The postie always leaves books just inside the porch (on a little step stool that the electricity company put there for the meter man to climb up on to read the meter - isn't that cute?) so I would have seen it straight away.

I just picked up
A Decline in Prophets by Sulari Gentill and
A Rule Against Murder by Louise Penny from my library for challenges this month :)

The Sleepwalker's Introduction to Flight and Wicked Charms
and at Vinnies for $1 400 minutes of danger

Could be Marianne!

The Last Dingo Summer by Jackie French
The Lily and the Rose by Jackie French
Looking for Andrew McCarthy by Jenny Colgan
Night World, No. 1, Night World, No. 2, Night World, No. 3 a 3 in 1 book by L.J. Smith
Received also as a gift The Clockmaker's Daughter by Kate Morton which I have already read, just didn't have the heart to tell the person who gifted it to me, it was very sweet of them to do it in the first place...
Also received before Christmas from Allen and Unwin:
Small Blessings by Emily Brewin
The Orchardist's Daughter by Karen Viggers...

and

Looking forward to reading both of these.
I just received from two publishers - Saving You by Charlotte Nash
The House of Second Chances by Esther Campion

Nup - simpler explanation than that. I gave them the wrong house number and the book was sent back to them. Doh!!
