In the mail today from Harper Collins, my GR win:A Place to Remember
collected my reserve of London Rules from the library: so looking forward to this!
and I dropped in some books to my former colleagues at the hospital and was given The Bone Collection: Four Novellas by a dear friend who borrows lots from me, which was very sweet of her.
Picked up Faction Man: Bill Shorten’s Pursuit of Power by David Marr at the Book Grocer in Ballarat for $6, not everyone's cup of tea, but looks an interesting read.
Well, actually, most recent are the books I bought for the March Challenge.A Fortunate Life
The Shadow Queen
The Bear and the Nightingale
Collected a reserve from the library: Three Things About Elsie. I really enjoyed Joanna Cannon's The Trouble with Goats and Sheep so I'm looking forward to this one.And in the mail from Text, Census by Jesse Ball
In the mail from Bonnier/Echo, Egyptian Enigma I like this cover
, it goes nicely with my copies of the first two in the series.

The kindle is $12.50 Heather which is a fairly normal price these days for a new book. The paperback came out last October in Australia. It is very difficult to sort out new book publications world wide.

Finally received The Year that Changed Everything by Cathy Kelly a month after I won it ... I've been getting anxious! Where's the fun in reading a proof copy after it's been released?!Not that I'm complaining about free books! Haha
It's always a shame when that happens - but then it's not your fault that the review is "late"! lol

Sorry Brenda, aree we meant to start reading the book for our group reads on the first of every month? I just thought I'll make a head start as I've got another book to read for a different group.
Haha! Not until the 1st - so anytime in March Mish :) Just having a joke with you as it's only a day until March now anyway!!! Where has February gone!

thanks Mish - I checked with my Melbourne library card and they don't have it as an ebook and Singapore library service don't have it. I'll just keep on checking maybe next month something will change.
the book whisperer supported the Smith Family today and got a wishlist book (well, all the Patrick Gale books I don't own are wishlist books :) )Friendly Fire for 50c (their books are REALLY cheap!!)
From the free book swap locker in Thirroul, Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife because I think DH might be interested. And in the mail from Text, but in a parcel looking very battered (took 3 weeks from Melbourne), the movie tie-in of The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Heroes
Oh my goodness! You lucky thing! Did that even get read by whomever?? I've been expecting a copy of it to arrive for awhile :)
Marianne I wonder if you could look out for a copy of Look For Me by Lisa Gardner which was released on 6th February? I can't find it anywhere (except online at exorbitant prices!) and just wondered....

Sure, Brenda, I can look. For those who like Derek B. Miller's books, I see in a fb message that American By Day is on netgalley.
Marianne I'm curious - do you end up re-donating the books you find after you've read them or do you just have a massive collection?? I'm so impressed by how many you acquire!
the book whisperer was at Vinnies yesterday:Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow $2.50 because of something mentioned in the last book I read
Friend Request $2.50
Happily just opened a parcel from Pan Macmillan AU -

I made an exciting acquisition today - a work of translated Mauritian fiction that I’ve been wanting to read but was finding impossible to get hold of in Australia - Eve out of Her Ruins by Ananda Devi. Here in Pokhara I managed to pick up a brand new, for-sale-in-South-Asia-only copy for just under $6.
