That's a great pick up. I have a Street Library in my suburb and leave books there from time to time. I would love to have one in my front yard but as I live at units don't think the body corporate would give it the go ahead.
Going to buy Kelloggs this weekend.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments That's me done with Alex Cross for a while now, I've caught up. The People vs. Alex Cross was pretty standard James Patterson fare. 3.5★s from me

I love this idea! People on their way to the beach in Thirroul, needing a book to read, can pick one up on Henley Road. And drop one off if they're done with it.

I left two there today

That's really good! Wish there was one near me:)

message 3757: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9847 comments That's great Marianne. I haven't seen any street libraries near me but I've always thought that one on the way to the railway station would be good as so many people read on the train during their morning/evening commute to work.

I agree - a great idea!

message 3759: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6908 comments We have one at Huskisson. Being a tourist spot most of the offerings are light beach reads. Turnover is pretty swift of books.

I have tons of BM points too but don't visit there much anymore.
Picked up Fargo Rock City: A Heavy Metal Odyssey in Rural North Dakota by Chuck Klosterman at the op shop today. $3.99 Really pleased as this one has been on my 'want to read' list for awhile.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments I borrowed the audio version of The House of Unexpected Sisters narrated by the wonderful Adjoa Andoh from the library via Borrowbox.
I found that if I have the Borrowbox open on my smartphone, I can listen to it while driving through the car's speakers because they connect to it via Bluetooth. Very handy!

Diana, I still regularly check my wishlist, but this is the first time in 8 months that I have mooched anything.

Marianne I do a lot of audio through BorrowBox as well, but don't know how to connect it to my stereo. I put it on through my iPhone speaker. It can't be too hard, I should ask my kids ;) The good thing is you can speed up the Narration. I have just started The Power of One.

message 3765: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4436 comments Ten Little Pirates by Mike Brownlow On the way out of my public library today I picked up 6 books for a dollar:

Ten Little Pirates by Mike Brownlow
Peanut Butter & Cupcake by Terry Border
There's a Wocket in My Pocket! by Dr. Seuss
Masterchef Australia The Cookbook. Volume Two. by MasterChef Australia
4 Ingredients by Kim McCosker

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments Suzanne, if your car has bluetooth and you can connect your phone via that then you should be able to listen to audiobooks with Borrowbox

message 3787: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9980 comments I am so pleased my library has ordered in The Deal of a Lifetime because, while I love to own Fredrik Backman's books, I draw the line at $20 for a 65 page hardback.
Ideally, a paperback with The Deal of a Lifetime and And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer together would be something I'd pay for.

Anyway, I collected my reserve from the library. :)
