Recently Purchased/Acquired book/s - part 2
That's interesting Sally - and it sounds similar to what a group of romance writers did last year around here. There were 13 of them - all standalone but in the same town, and about different people each book, with cameo appearances of previous book's characters :)

And that cover (it's very colourful!) would suit the UMBRELLA criteria too :)

Thanks Sally. It was the lighthouse that attracted me. I'm a sucker for covers!!!

I have been very lucky and won 8 books from Goodreads this year.
About 4 or 5 years ago I won 52 books in one year! That was when I first signed up to The Reading Room and got about two books a month from them. Sadly they no longer give away books. Publishers also seem to have reduced their giveaways in the last couple of years, Still the library, purchases from Booktopia and wins from Goodreads keep me well supplied with books,

Wow that's exceptional Margot and Noelene!!! I haven't won anything for ages but I have won a couple this year :)

Grabbed it and went to checkout and she rang up $25 - I queried this and showed her the sign that clearly said all in the tray $5. There were other copies of the same book in there. She said that it was a mistake and they shouldn’t have been in there. I pointed out to her that they are obliged under consumer law to give the book to me at the marked price. So she went and had a word with the manager and I got the book for $5 but they were removing the other copies out of the sale tray as we left the shop!
Tut tut shopkeeper - never argue with someone who works for Consumer Affairs!
