Well done, Kylie! I've entered the giveaway on GR, 100 copies to 1400+ people makes it a long shot but you can't win if you don't enter! Good thing my library has it!
collected my reserve The Scandal from the library and how is this: MY LIBRARY NO LONGER CHARGES FOR RESERVES!!! in the days when everything goes up in price, this is a very welcome change.

Welcome indeed! Lucky you and your local readers Marianne. Wish ours would do that.
I was one of the winners of a competition on social media a few days ago and received my winning book today -
Bridget Crack by Rachel Leary Historical fiction set in Van Diemen's Land in 1826. Can't wait to read it!

Well done, Brenda :)I've gone back to borrowing from my local library as I can't really afford to buy books any more.
My library pick ups today:
The Currency Lass by Tea Cooper
Fortune's Son by Jennifer Scoullar
Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens
The Golden Child by Wendy James
That's great news Marianne on two counts. 1. That Wollongong Council no longer charges for reserves- I wonder if they'll wipe the $7 I've accrued?! 2. That you've picked up The Scandal- I'm 2 behind you in the reserve queue!!

Maybe it's from July 1?
I will try not to take too long with it ;)

Yes, gotta be in it to win it! And you never know... yep, it's looking like a bit of a long shot, but you might just be one of those 100 winners! :) Good luck xo :)
And that's excellent news about the library no longer charging for reserves Marianne. My library only charges for reserves for those books they have to get through via a library outside of those they are connected with across Victoria.
Alik wrote: "No rush Marianne- I've got plenty to read while I'm waiting!"Well, I have a month but will certainly get to it before that!

We still get a $1 charge for reserves but you can accrue up to $20 in fees before they call it in.
I picked up Italian Outsiders Stories this morning for $4.50 at the op shop. Short stories by Italian authors as I'm trying to read more globally.
Nice work Diana. :)Yesterday I went for a family outing to Warrnambool, and in Kmart I bought A Letter from Italy by Pamela Hart. :)
I got 3 new books today - all historical:
Beauty in Thorns by Kate Forsyth
Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas
Queen of Hearts by Rhys Bowen
Wonderful Sally! Fantastic birthday presents! I'm keen to read Beauty in Thorns. :)And yes Brenda, this was also on my wish-list. And I had no hesitation in purchasing it after reading, and delighting in The Soldier's Wife earlier this week. :)
Kylie, Pamela Hart also writes fantasy under Pamela Freeman. She has 3 historical under Hart and quite a few under Freeman :)
Brenda wrote: "Kylie, Pamela Hart also writes fantasy under Pamela Freeman. She has 3 historical under Hart and quite a few under Freeman :)"She also writes children's books. Very talented is our Pamela.

Just ordered Never Never by James Patterson AND Candice Fox from the Book Depository for $8.26 (US). I prefer real book books and it was less expensive than on Amazon US in any format! Does this qualify as an Aussie author? =o)
I just received two completely unexpected and random books from Hachette -
Traitors by Frank Walker
Dragon and Kangaroo by Robert Macklin
