Li'l Owl | 2504 comments I'm really excited about Ragdoll! I think I'll change my March challenge published in 2017 to this one!
I'm off to hit the nest. I just asked Brenda what she was doing up at this hour, thinking it is 2:00 AM !!!
Hugs xx mates =o)

PS I'd just like to say that I'm really happy having you as mates!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments I really enjoyed Spook Street, I gave it 5★s
and I just noticed it for $2 at Angus & Robertson see https://www.angusrobertson.com.au/boo... it's probably a mistake.....

but if you buy it through Booko it's free postage https://booko.com.au/9781473621275/Sp...

I can recommend it!

Thanks Marianne! I would agree, it's probably a mistake!

message 2154: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments but worth buying if they haven't fixed it. Which they haven't, as yet.

message 2155: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80013 comments Mod
No they haven't! And I ordered it ;) Like I need another book!!! But with it being book 4, can it be read as stand alone?

message 2156: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments I haven't read the first 3 and a half, but I do plan to. But, yes, as far as I'm concerned, it can be read stand-alone. I imagine there are spoilers in this book for the first 3 and a half, but I won't find out until I read them, LOL.

I wonder when A&R will twig that they've marked it $2 instead of $20, or something.....

Oh great, thanks Marianne! Yes, I wonder!!!

message 2158: by Veronica ⭐️ (new)

Veronica ⭐️ | 2386 comments I recommend Slow Horses. I've just finished it and it's a run down of all at slough house and why they are there. I came out of it really knowing what Jackson Lamb is all about.

I love the cover of Norse Mythology. It's very pretty when you see it "in the flesh" so to speak.

Yes, it is lovely. Though with one of my favourite authors telling some of my favourite mythologies I have high hopes it is more than just a pretty cover ;)

message 2190: by Zoey (new)

Zoey (rozannen) | 1045 comments Had a lovely morning at my local libraries annual 2nd hand book fair. Spent $55 (its the library its a good cause) & got the following:

Betrayal in Death by J.D. Robb
Purity in DeathJ.D. Robb
Portrait in Death by J.D. Robb
Apprentice in Death by J.D. Robb
Heartstone by C.J. Sansom
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
Playing the Odds / Tempting Fate by Nora Roberts
The Chocolate Promise by Josephine Moon
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson
A Market for Murder by Rebecca Tope
Elizabeth the Great by Elizabeth Jenkins
Harriette Wilson's Memoirs by Lesley Blanch
Cleopatra by Michael Grant
Mary Tudor: The Spanish Tudor by H.F.M. Prescott
Lucrezia Borgia by Maria Bellonci
Unnatural Murder by Anne Somerset

Not a bad effort for someone who was telling herself all week that she wasnt going to go because she already has more books than she could possibly read in a number of years. Ha Ha I make myself laugh sometimes :)

Zoey (rozannen) | 1045 comments Phrynne wrote: "Wow! How is it when my library sells off its old books it is always stuff I don't want!"

Oh these aren't old library books. They have a donation bin all year round where anyone can donate unwanted books. They collect them all and sell them at the annual book fair (unless they keep them for their shelves) then use the money raised to buy new books. It's great they have tables of books and people are lined up down the street waiting for the doors to open.

message 2195: by Marianne (new)
