It's very tiny but it's a Christmas one.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the mods come up with :)

I guess if Stephenie Meyer has been spending time writing this, she's not working on sequels to The Host.... :(

I've got that too - just need the time to read it now! Roll on Christmas:)

And it say's #1 - so this means there will be a number 2! (?)
I hadn't realised that the author lives slap bang in the middle of Margaret River wine region - no wonder wine/ grapes and wineries feature in all her books!!

Well Darwin is closer to WA than Newcastle ;) I'm sure you'll get it soon - maybe tomorrow?

three 2016 books, and supported Vinnies and Salvos:
Truly Madly Guilty $3
Fool Me Once $4 and
The Missing Wife $4

I know! I was actually surprised at how many new Romance ones there are on the shelves at Big W.

Actually Brenda, we heard a little about James Patterson and 'bookshots' at the RWA Conference in Adelaide in August. It is a new thing for him - they are supposed to be $5 reads and less than $150 pages - something like that, and outlets are in places like Service Stations/Grocery stores as much as bookshops. And yes - romance is a line of it. James is (I think) looking for authors to collaborate with. I don't think he writes the romance, but they are like: "James Patterson Presents" - and the romance line.
Oh that's interesting Lily. Thanks for sharing that information. He certainly is broadening his reading outlet isn't he! The ones I've read so far I've mostly enjoyed. But I do pick and choose - don't want to read all the titles as some don't appeal :)

His agent apparently convinced him to branch out into different genres for the BookShots series. He was very reluctant at first but eventually gave in as he saw it as an opportunity to reach a wider demographic of readers. I know that he is a strong advocate for encouraging kids and young adults to read so that was probably the main hook for him.

That sounds right to me Elias, based on what I heard in August.

Marianne wrote: "Brenda, don't forget titles like Sam's Letters to Jennifer and Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas which are also more in the romance vein than what Patterson usually writes....."
True :)

The whisperer still has it! They are a great bunch.

I received an email today to inform me I'd won a book package (I'd forgotten I'd entered this competition!) and have three new books coming my way - Pieces of a Lie and All That's Left Unsaid both by Rowena Holloway and Inheriting Fear by Sandy Vaile Both Aussie authors!! Very excited about this win!
Plus I had delivered by the publisher S&S yesterday - The German Girl by Armando Lucas Correa
Phew! Now I'll have some books to read ;P

Thanks Dale :)
Thanks Dale :)

The Complete Maus

having read a memoir by his daughter not too long ago, I was interested to read this
I really enjoyed that a long time ago Marianne - it was my first introduction to a graphic novel, and recommended (and lent to me) by my son :)

for Veronica:
Truly Madly Guilty $4 and
O Is For Outlaw $4
for either Brenda or Veronica (I believe both of you want this one so you might have to fight it out....)
Betrayal in Death in good condition $4
for me:
The Good Father $3
Two By Two $4
See Me $3
Secrets of a Happy Marriage $3
We'll have to toss for it Veronica :) I would only have one to get after that if I got it - two left now. But as I have four coming from you already Marianne (in death) I'll let Veronica have it! Thanks for thinking of us :)

Haha Brenda I'll choose heads. Or we could do scissors, paper, rock.
If Brenda doesn't want Betrayal in death I'll take it.
Haha! Wrong words Veronica.... If Brenda doesn't want Betrayal in death I'll take it.
But that's fine... I don't mind :)
