At Vinnies today On, Off by Colleen McCullough $5 hardcover in great condition. Have never heard of this one before so happy to have found it. :)

been browsing Brotherhood Books (after all, I don't have a thing to read!!) noticed they have Heavenly Pleasures for $6.50. Is that the only Corinna Chapman you don't have, Brenda?
There's one other book I want, but I would like to order 3 to avoid freight so I'll keep checking back there....

Yep.. the rest of the clan is away in the central west roughing it and riding motorbikes, so Indy and I are having some company. It's always good to talk books. Mum always asks about you AR's as she follows closely but doesn't review etc.
Brenda wrote: "Nice Suz!"Made some space and added to the two deep 'pile' next to the shelf, Brenda. Any which way to make them fit ;)

I think if you've mastered the art of playing Tetris with your bookshelf, you probably don't have to worry about that problem.
I was quite amazed to find a Deborah Challinor book at Lifeline today (don't go there a lot, too expensive) but of course it wasn't one that Brenda wants Behind the Sunfor me though, at Salvos, The Forever Girl one on my wishlist for $3
Oh that's amazing Marianne! I have all the Convict Girl series :) I hope you find some of the others ;)
In the mail today from Text, Cory Taylor's Dying: A Memoir, which was posted from Melbourne 6th JUNE !!!The package is quite battered looking, as if it has been on a far longer trip. Not the first time it has taken this long: I am wondering if Australia Post are trying to push people into their more expensive guaranteed delivery products. Address perfectly correct, I can only wonder where it's been all this time!
Oh Marianne that's shocking! They are particularly bad now and have been since the big change over :(
That doesn't actually sound too bad considering I've had parcels shipped from within Australia that never made it to my doorstep. I think it just wasn't meant to be with those parcels.
Years ago, every time I sent some friends a letter (they lived in the hills outside of Perth) it went to Halls Creek in the Kimberley before returning to me. I have never figured out how that worked.
My latest goodies are a must own Calling Me Home by Julie Kibler via Booko (just asked for a refund as waited 8 weeks.. oops) and with a Dymocks voucher it was about time I bought this one Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. Now to find a 'spot' on the shelf.
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking...I like that title! Sounds good too!Zoo by James Patterson is my latest goodie.
Launceston City Mission has their Annual Bookfest yesterday & today so visited on my lunch break yesterday & picked a some bargainsPride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith $2.00
The Highlander's Touch by Karen Marie Moning $0.50
Soul of a Highlander by Melissa Mayhue $1.00

Lady Of Hay by Barbara Erskine $0.20
Total $4.70 got to be happy with that :)
I have just ordered a book for my granddaughters upcoming 3rd birthday -
My Silly Mum by long time online friend Monique Mulligan. It is a Serenity Press release and on their webpage it is $18.99 - but Monique said it was also available on Booktopia so I thought I'd purchase it from there as there are a couple of books I could buy at the same time. On Booktopia the same book is $56!!!!!! I told Monique as I thought it may be costing her sales if people didn't go and look at the publishers site! She is aware of it - and they are trying to get Booktopia to update their website.
Makes you wonder how accurate other prices are. Guess when you're acquiring books online it pays to shop around!
the book whisperer popped into Mission Australia on the way home (yes there is one open on Sunday!!) and bought There Should Be More Dancing by Rosalie Ham for $2, in very good nick, too
Had a little splurge this morning on books by Aussie authors for my kindle: A Donation of Murder by Felicity Young
Rosetta: A Scandalous True Story by Alexandra Joel
Ruins by Rajith Savanadasa
My daughter and I spent the last of her Dymocks vouchers today, for her 'meritorious' achievements at school. Something for all of us (my other daughter, too).Black by Fleur Ferris much anticipated by all three of us..
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
The 100 by Kass Morgan (they keep seeing tv shows turn up in their original form at the book shop!)

Wow! That's ridiculous! Surely they realise that's wrong...whoever is doing the pricing on Booktopia needs a finger slap!
