I also bought Hope Never Dies (an Obama and Biden mystery) by Andrew Shaffer just because it sounded such a bizarre idea for a mystery!

The Desert Midwife (mum already read it this weekend!)
[book:While You Were Reading..."
Some great reads there Bec!

I've read the Obama/Biden one. It's lots of fun if you don't take it seriously. Miss those guys!

That would be a re-issue I think Carolyn as I've finished that and the next, with only #9 to go which was published earlier this year (I think) or perhaps late last year :) Maybe it's the US release?? Don't know, but thanks!

Ahh fair enough. I wish I had lots more to read! One to go is sad :( Phrynne has read them all so she's worse off! lol

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - a few chapters in and I am hooked
The Sisters Brothers
Denton Little's Deathdate

While You Were Reading
In the mail from Text Publishing:
This is How We Change the Ending
and a library reserve:
The Mammoth Book Of Best British Crime 6 for the Alexander McCall Smith story therein.

I initially wasn’t going to request this one but I recently read Wintering by Krissy Kneen and loved it. She quotes on the front of the book and says it’s rare and magical....so I chose it. I love books that make you feel that raw emotion, so I’m hoping this is one of them.
I secretly was hoping for Going Under by Sonia Henry but seems I may have missed out. Oh well, it’s on reserve from the library, so I’ll read it eventually.

You're in for a great read, I counted myself very lucky to have received a copy so early.

Received this afternoon from A&U
The Unforgiving City by Maggie Joel and from Pan Macmillan
The Long Call by Ann Cleeves

Thanks S&S
hand delivered by the postie on this cold and blustery day. Love Auspost :D

And from Hachette Australia, The Old Lie

I haven't been exactly reading a heck of a lot, lately. Sigh................. This book does look great though. Based in NY. Very appealing.

And lastly a collections of short stories called Goldfields - A collection of treasures by local authors - which isn't on Goodreads by the look of it...

Yes - I picked the wrong version!
The other edition (The Stationery Shop) is from Gallery Books - maybe US? Have changed the title to the S&S one.

Sounds like a great weekend!! Some great pickups there!

I am really excited about both books, but a little freaked out because I have two books already on the go and am flying out in a fortnight.... I may have over-committed!
Incidentally! Suzanne - how did you manage to bring up the correct book cover for The Arrangement? All I could get was this red one, and GR did not recognise the ISBN even....

Quite a haul there Nat.

Might make this my next read!
Gorgeous cover!

ISBN on my copy is 9781760850463

Fingers crossed that a copy arrives for me in the next few days...
