I think it’s just a random draw of entries.

Harley Loco: A Memoir of Hard Living, Haircutting and Post-Punk from the Middle East to the Lower East Side by Rayya Elias $1
Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson $3

I never get those 'Wish for it' books! Still ask though - just in case :)
What I hate most is when you've been rejected for a book request and then they make it 'Read Now' but they still don't let you have it.

Hope you mean that Phrynne because I also accidentally (I swear I wasn't looking) just found Meg Keneally's new book Fled as 'Read Now' on NG.

I think they’ve gone off me too Marianne! But then, so has A&U. I’m getting all my new releases from NetGalley at the moment.

I have once - a Rachael Johns book!!! And yes, that's happened to me too. Unfair :(

I do mean it! But in this particular case I will own up to the fact that I do not really care for convict stories so I can happily let that book go.

And an exciting email the other day saying I had won a copy of
The Lost Gutenberg: The Astounding Story of One Book's Five-Hundred-Year Odyssey by Allen & Unwin. Love the cover

Picked up from the library this morning - How the Light Gets In by Louise Penny, Dog on It by Spencer Quinn and Give the Devil His Due by Sulari Gentill

Excellent score, Jazzy! 😯

That's funny Veronica, as I read the blurb to my husband as well, I keep receiving books in the mail and he assumes I'm still buying books. I'm not!! Your story is funny, thanks for telling us!

Looks like a nice easy read, love books about books and reading!

Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier
Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin

Thanks Brenda, I was pretty chuffed. Because I really need more books...

Last year I received two ARC of the same book from A&U.

The Tin Drum - Günter Grass
From the Amnesty Bookshop
Life and Fate - Vasily Grossman
And from the Library book sale
My father's places - Aeronwy Thomas
"A portrait of childhood by Dylan Thomas' daughter"

The Nancys by R.W.R. Mcdonald and Alice to Prague by Tanya Heaslip, both courtesy of Allen & Unwin.

Bring them to the get together, or give them to someone you know will enjoy them

Actually my martial arts training is the one thing I would choose to do over reading but thankfully I can do both :D
Today I collected a few ARCs from the PO:
Unsolved Australia: Lost Boys, Gone Girls by Justine Ford
Girl in the Rearview Mirror by Kelsey Rae Dimberg
The Chain by Adrian McKinty

Going Under

Wow, this one looks good, Marianne!

The Second Worst Restaurant in France
and for $3 at Vinnies:
The Dalai Lama's Cat

Hare’s Fur
The Island of Sea Women
Without a Doubt
Gravity Is The Thing
so that was a successful day!
You did well Marianne :)
The Woman Who Walked into the Sea and
The Malice of Waves both by Mark Douglas-Home are my spoils. I took 16 and came home with 2 :) I did well!

The Bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald $2.99
