480 pages (If worldcat disagrees then they are counting a preview of next book in series)

282 pages
Page breakdown if needed.
279 - Story ends
280 - Note from Author
281-282 - Suggested Book Club discussion questions.
After that are several pages of ads for her other books.
258: Page count set to 282.(WorldCat says 279; GR allows for the author note and discussion questions.)
101 Baseball Places to See Before You Strike OutISBN-10: 159921251X (ISBN13: 9781599212517) has 228 pages in hardcover, not 240.
Jim
This book has 467 pages, instead of 480 (or 472 if you count the advertorials, but those pages are not numbered and as a rule should be dismissed anyway):https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

#262: The book page you linked to is for the 1995 publication; the WorldCat link is for a 2004 publication. Not done: There appear to be multiple editions using the same cover and ISBN, with differing page counts (refer: AbeBooks & WorldCat). Not sure whether the GR database caters for this.

They are all the same paperback, reprinted by Arrow. A new edition would necessarily have a different ISBN. WorldCat lists the same ISBN with a 1993 publication date and 472 pages (which is what you get if you count the adverts at the end).
http://www.worldcat.org/title/first-f...
So it is the same book in both entries (the third one on WorldCat is audio).
The 480 page-number listed on GR is lifted from Amazon, but using the LookInsinde function I can confirm that the contents are identical to my copy (down to the typo on page 197, with Bag Two-Hearted River instead of Big Two-Hearted River)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Forty-...
We can therefore be sure that there is a single format for this book and it contains 467 pages (472 with adverts).
Your feedback is appreciated, thanks. The issue remains that the same ISBN (and cover) has been used for multiple publications with differing publication dates and number of pages. It does not make sense that WorldCat would list distinct entries for (supposedly) the same publication, with different page numbering rules applied to each, as you suggest—that would be inconsistent.
Perhaps another librarian might want to review.
#262, 265-267 Gruia wrote: "A new edition would necessarily have a different ISBN."In an ideal world, yes. Unfortunately some publishers, especially those of mass-market paperbacks (such as Arrow), have the annoying tendency to re-use ISBNs for different editions (different covers, different typesettings).
Since Worldcat and the Look Inside function of Amazon UK both list the 2004 edition, as 'new', respectively 'first' edition, we cannot be sure it's the same page count as the 1995 edition. It might be newly reset.
Which year of publication does your copy have?

My copy has 2004 as year of publication. The technical info page indicates that the printer was Clays, but with the same typeset as the one listed on the Amazon copy. The contents page is an exact match, typos included. This is why I suspect that both WorldCat entries actually have an identical format: 472 pages (the minimum possible), of which 467 contain the work.
AbeBooks lists the same ISBN from Arrow, Cornerstone, Random House and Penguin (all part of the same group) but no page numbers.
We do not have any source listing a 480 page copy (other than Amazon, which is often wrong), so we must rely on WorldCat and modify the GR entry to either 472 or 467 pages.
#271 Your copy has the same pub date (2004) as the one actually shown on Amazon (see colophon with Look Inside function) and in Worldcat. Since the info shown on the Amazon web page is in contradiction with that and I could find no reliable info on an Arrow edition published in 1995 with 480 pages (the info on GR was added by a bot, presumably from Amazon), I changed the pub date to 2004 and page count to 467: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...(AbeBooks does have a few listings mentioning 480 pages, but I suspect that is the same page number the publisher used.)

Goodreads shows 130 pages. I have the book and the pages are numbered and there are 119. Note: Every page is numbered to the last physical page in the book. Actual text of the book starts on page 5 (I don't know if that matters).
Thanks!
#289: Done (WorldCat agrees).GR is not concerned with the first page containing the actual text, as this would typically vary and is not always page 1.

I don't know why, it's not me who added this book on GR.The ISBN is correct (I have checked it in the book and on the bookstore's website http://bonito.pl/k-644169-stephanie-p... ).

ISBN-13 (and ISBN-10, derived with online converter) populated based on your book-in-hand confirmation—not the bookstore.
➤ Could you please also provide a page count from your copy of the book?

378 pages. Current count of 415 must be reflecting the previews of 4 of the author's other books.
Also, something is wrong with the cover photo, it isn't showing.
