Thanks for the update, Danell! What kind of puppies did everyone get?
Happy Easter, everyone! :D
I hope everyone had a good Easter. I have been trying to find a book I would like that is set in Africa. I finally found something ... at least a discovery is made in Africa but if it takes place outside of Africa for more of the novel I don't know. I am not sure when I will get to it. So far everything I have picked up on someone missing has been a book I didn't like for one reason or another. I thought that would be the easiest category. Eventually I will summarize what I have read or am reading, probably in two weeks or so as I am assuming we have until the end of April for this challenge. Is that right?

Those puppies must be adorable! :)
Dustin did you read The Talisman first before The Black House?Christine I'm glad your back and that sounds like the trip of a lifetime, glad you had fun.

I didn't. Do I need to read The Talisman first?

A book I would recommend for Africa setting is Little Bee. Maybe I will re-read it. I haven't decided yet :-)
If the Amazon is located in Africa, then I have another African setting to recommend :-) so let me know if the Amazon is in Africa because I am too lazy to find out for myself. Thanks.

"Thanks for the recommendation, Dustin! :D
Definitely read The Talisman before Black House. The Talisman is good but I've heard not so good things about Black House. I've put off reading it because trusted sources told me not to bother with Black House. Little Bee is an awesome book! I highly recommend it. I haven't decided on an Africa book either but this one is definitely worth a re-read.
So I added Little Bee
to my tbr-thanks again to Dustin & Christine for recommending-also noticed the ebook is on sale for $1.99 so I got it :)

Thanks for the update, Danell! That book was heartbreaking.
Christine wrote: "I just finished The Maltese Falcon It counts as a classic. Now I need to watch the movie again!"Thanks for the update, Christine! I really need to read that book one of these days.
It seems like we have a contender for a potential group read with the book Little Bee
It seems like it would be a good book for discussion and it's a short book so it wouldn't be a huge time commitment or should we skip the group read this season?
Let me know what you all think :)

I'd read it again. Especially as a group read :-) We should totally do it.

I am game with a group read!!Rachel, "A Stolen Life" is heartbreaking! Was driving my truck trying not to cry thinking about her life.
Looks like Little Bee
is the spring challenge group read :DWe'll just comment in this thread like we did for
.Any preference for dates? We could just set it for the month of May or we could start it sometime this month if that's better for everyone.
Thanks All :-) Will look forward to re-reading this book. I don't mind later in April or May.
I will wait until tomorrow and see if anyone else chimes in, otherwise will make sure it gets featured on the group page with a May 1 begin date.

Thanks Dustin! :D
later in April or May 1 sounds good to me. I'd prefer later in April, only because all the groups I am in start their monthly read at the beginning of the month and it would be nice to have one group start a monthly reading later in the month.
I read
which works for a classic. Great book! I also read
which works for the letters I R S in the title. That book was good. I do however have a confession to make. Started
last night. Have been making maple syrup at my brother in laws and pulled an all nighter boiling sap. Knew I would be close to finishing the previously mentioned books I quickly went to my mother in laws to buy the book for my nook. Forgive me I have a flip phone without internet. The internet at my brother in laws house is slow, my sons pet turtle may be faster. Anyway not knowing when or if we were going to read "Little Bees", I started it already. On the third chapter and enjoying it, but will pick it up again later this month or beginning of May.

I think I preferred my flip phone to the touch screen one i have now :)
Thank you!! Think when it is time for an upgrade may have to get a touch screen one, not sure if flip phones will be an option. My work phone is a touch screen and at times I have some unlady like words for it and GPS!
I have set Little Bee with an Earth Day start date (4/22) for those who are getting anxious to start before May. The group read will run through May :-)

I still have a flip phone, but I hardly use my phone. I am only online when I'm at home. I'm old school.
finished Wintergirls
for the irs task. I thought this was good although I preferred the other 2 books I've read by her.

I just finished a fantastic book, probably one that will make my list of best books read in 2016. It has a character that drowns. The book is The Lightkeepers It takes place on the Farallon Islands off the coast of California. I highly recommend it.
