So, taking a cursory look at this last night, there are actually 2 "prologue" chapters in this, so is our plan to read through chapter 3 today, or through chapter 5?

I'm at the end of chapter 5 and confusion is the reigning theme of the night for me with what I've read. I think it's been too long between books for me to remember it all.

I finished chapter 3. I'm so tired . I don't think I can finish chapter 4 and 5. I'll give it a try.

The problem is that I'm reading every line more than once just to comprehend what is says. My brain is half off!

A Court of Thorns and Roses. I've never read the series, and Kelby was interested in a Re-Read, so in January, we plan on going down that rabbit hole, since I'm enjoying Ms. Maas' work so much!

Brannon was one of the first Kings of Terrasen. Aelin was talking to his wife/daughter in the dungeons during Throne of Glass, Elena, I believe. Gavin is one of Aelin's cousins, I think.

This is a great one. I'm sorting everything in my head now!
So there was Mala (she's the Goddess they keep praying to ) and Brannon, he stole the wardkeys and she became the "Eye of Elena".
Their daughter, Elena, married Gavin. And she is the ghost in the Dorian's castle.

Maeve is a Valg Queen. She has foreseen what can Aelin do and so she set Rowan up.
I read about Ren, Evangeline and Lysandra and ...
I think I'm a bit more prepared now.

I think we were counting the prologues as chapters, so yesterday's stopping point would have been chapter 8. Today's stopping point would then be chapter 13.

I, however, had already done the reading for the day by the time we determined this, so I'm actually sitting at the beginning of Chapter 16, because I didn't do any reading yesterday, and decided to sit and do today's reading this morning as well, when I was playing catch up.

I have to say, things are still confusing as heck, but the action is starting to kick in, and I'm not minding it as much. The events around Dorian and Manon's camp is extremely interesting!

Her torture scene was very hard to read, I hope there aren't many of those scenes in the book.
I almost cried when the twin brother killed himself.

Chaol's wife is pregnant, isn't she?

I have a strong feeling that some the couples are not going to survive this book.
I hope Elide forgives Lorcan , I really like them together.
I don't remember all the small characters and the name of the armies. It's really hard to keep everything in line.

Yes when the unfamiliar names come up I just pass by them quickly. By the end of the book I'm sure I'll figure out who is who.

I like how powerful Dorian has become
