I really enjoyed her book and writing style. I didn't have much reading time but when I read the story flew by fast.
What Julie Klassen book would you recommend I should add to my shelf next?

What Julie..."
My favorite of hers is the Secret of Pembroke Park. I love the cover of the Dancing Master, but like Staci didn't care for the book.

Review: This book was only ok for me. It starred Kate, a mom of an infant who is also a private investigator. She is just starting out and she is working with a mentor PI, and the relationship between the two of them was one of the better parts of the story for me. Kate's best friend Jill's boyfriend is murdered, and Kate sets out to try to find out whodunit. Kate's two best friends were a bit rude and annoying in my opinion, which I wasn't a huge fan of. There also were a lot of different things going on in the story, which made it a bit hard to follow at times. All in all it was ok, but I don't know if I'd read any more in this series.

We are 1/4 there for tree.
Any hopes for tomorrow's category? As for me...just hoping it will not be sleigh or wreath. "Sock" and "Baby/Child" are the quickest ticket to bingo for us.

Mist of Midnight by Sandra Byrd

Read: June 11-14, 2016
Rating: Four Stars
Review:
Mist of Midnight is a well done Gothic Romance novel. I was trying to figure out chapter after chapter who the fraudulent Rebecca was and why. In the midst of all that mind bending, there was a delightful romance developing between Captain Luke Whitfield and Rebecca Ravenshaw.
I especially enjoyed the historical detail woven into the story. Details including religions in England and English missionaries in India.
I recommend Mist of Midnight to fans of historical fiction that enjoy mysteries too.

If it is "hot Drink" we have bingo when we have our tree
Stamp - the post mark bingo.

What will you read team?

I'm also glad the game continues!!

Review: I gave this book 4 stars on GR since we can't do half, but really I felt more like 3.5. It was ok. It was about a woman named Emily who is looking for a new start after years of fruitless searching for her daughter who was abducted. She moves to the small town of Nugget, TX, and is renting living space in a barn from the farm's owner, Clay. Clay is a widower with two sons of his own, and I wasn't really a huge fan of his. He is kind of dismissive of Emily at first, but they do end up becoming friends, and that friendship develops as they help each other deal with the painful pasts they both have. I did enjoy Emily's line of work - she wrote/edited cookbooks, so she had to do a lot of cooking and experimentation with food, and I enjoyed the parts about her going shopping, selecting ingredients and then trying out new recipes. Overall it was an ok book, and I might try another from this series at some point.

I still need to get to my Sock book. Really struggling reading this last 2 weeks - very tired so just relax in front of the TV.

Yes you can, since you haven't used it yet for your team (team four). :D Any book that fits the theme of the challenge somehow (i.e. takes place in winter or spring, the characters experience change, the character is young or in their golden years...anything that you have a reason for it to work, really) works. :D

Close to You by Kara Isaac

Review:
This debut was super cute! Among the humor were two hurt souls finding love even though they were definitely not looking for it. And the ending...wow...such a sweet, sweet ending.
The author writes with a great deal of humor and I found myself laughing out loud several times. For readers that are familiar with or fans of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, you will enjoy this novel even more than I could with having zero knowledge of the novels/movies. Likely, this would have been a five star read if I would have gotten all the references. But please don't let zero knowledge of Lord of the Rings/Hobbit scare you away. The novel is fantastic even if you no nothing about the Tolkien novels.
I look forward to reading other works by this author. I recommend this debut to fans of My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade.
