I will read

Hope to I can get to both categories before the next is called!

For sweater, I will likely read Falling Like Snowflakes which is a Christy Award Nominee for Contemporary Romance.

A funny back story...I went to a not incredibly close library branch to pick it up last night so I could start the novel today. A few hours later, I realized I have the book on my Kindle. Oops!

Water From My Heart by Charles Martin
Three Stars
Read: May 5-8
I have mixed feelings about this novel.
I loved that the novel is based upon facts. The afterward provides in depth information about the backstory and it was great to read about what inspired Water From My Heart. Along this same thought, I enjoyed learning more about Nicaragua, the land and the people. The title is meaningful and is explained in the pages of the story. I also liked the base meaning of this novel - hope and what is takes to receive it.
The story itself held my interest, however, was overall just o.k. This is my first novel by Charles Martin and am interested in reading another of his novels.

Book read: A Thousand Boy Kisses

Rating: 5 stars
Review: This was one of the saddest books I've ever read, but also very sweet and beautiful. It's about a boy named Rune and a girl named Poppy who meet at 5 years old, grow up together and fall in love, but have to deal with lots of tragedy along the way. The book really makes you want to live each day to the fullest and hold tight to those you love.

Theme/Cover: Sweater

Review: I loved this book, which was a love story about an outspoken, tough girl (Sid) who's secretly been in love with Lucas Dempsey since high school. Lucas, however, left Anchor Island, where they grew up, after high school and only came back to visit occasionally. Now, however, he is back for an extended period to help out his family after his father has a heart attack. He and Sid end up falling for each other, but he faces some tough decisions as he has a life and important job back in the city. I really loved the characters and the story, and the only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 was that I felt it ended kind of abruptly. :)

I'm off sick so a few more reading hours.

Rating 3 stars (though would have given 3,5 if it was an option).

Glad I could help ☺

Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter

Read May 15-18
Four Stars
Review:
Falling Like Snowflakes is the first novel in the Summer Harbor Series and my first Denise Hunter novel. This was a cute, light contemporary romance novel with a smidgen of suspense.

So if we get our sweater stamp and tree stamp, we are 1 category away from Bingo!

I will read Mist of Midnight for my "tree" book.

We now have our "heart" stamp. :-)

My first one from Julie Klassen ☺

Murder at the Courthouse by A.H. Gabhart

Read: May 30-June 1
Rating: Three stars
Review:
This mystery novel didn't hold my interest after the initial chapters. Another let down is that I figured out who the murderer was very early on in the novel.
Although I do not plan to continue reading this series, I do plan to read one of the author's other books as I've heard they are quite different from this one.
