YA possibly Dystopian / Sci Fi with Strange boarding school

This one might be hard because I only ever read the synopsis, not the book so I can't provide many details.

From what I can recall, it was some sort of near future possibly dystopian world. One character has amazing opportunity to go away to boarding school with her friend and her friends parents are willing to foot the bill. I am not sure but I think the friends sister might have been going to the school as well. When they get there really weird things are happening causing the characters to fear for their lives. I am fairly certain the main characters are all female and the school may have been female only.

I have been trying to find this one for about 4-5 years. I originally read the synopsis on KOBO's website and recall it being either a freebie or very little cost at the time. Really regret not buying it.

That is, if I recall correctly, true of one of the girls. I think she pretends to be a sister.

Was there magic? The town she was from was a hidden 'safe zone', bu she didn't know so snuck off to college with her friend and was found by th fae world once she exited the town?

I don't think so but as I haven't actually read it I am not sure. I believe she didn't sneak off to school.

I think the school in this book is co-ed, but there are definitely weird things happening at the boarding school in this books. I don't remember the details though The School of Possibilities

Definitely not it but sounds interesting. I am not sure whether the school was co-ed or not but I am almost 90% certain the main character was female.

Mine seemed to be set in the future, possibly a dystopian world.
