C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yep, like Jackie said. That's completely fine. :) Nice choice too!

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Oh, and Angelina, if you see this I had a question: Do you have any German book recommendations, maybe more children or middle grade range? One of my reading goals is to read at least one book in a foreign language this year and I was thinking about reading a Cornelia Funke book. Just thought you might have some suggestions!

Maya White | 734 comments Awesome!

message 54: by Angelina (new)

Angelina | 21 comments Yeah, I know some good German books. I read a series a while back by Cornelia Funke called Die Wilden Hühner and I really enjoyed it. It is more contemporary, children ranged and a nice light read. Another fantasy book by her would be Drachenreiter. It's also really good!

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Thanks! I'll have to see if I can order those in German. I think I have Dragon Rider in english, so maybe I'll start with that one. :)

message 56: by Angelina (new)

Angelina | 21 comments I hope you enjoy it! I always preferred reading books in their original languages, so I always switch between German and English.

message 57: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Thanks! That's one reason I wanted to make sure the book I read hasn't been translated from English to another language. I don't know much German, but I figure I can take it slow. :)

Kaylee Moore | 4 comments Do you need an extra person? I'd love to join.

message 59: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments You can join team Rock. We're a member short on that team. :)

Kaylee Moore | 4 comments Courtney, I am very excited, but struggling to understand the challenge.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Ok. What do you need to know? Basically, try to make the books you're reading fit the challenge. You can post on the team thread to discuss books if you like. Then post a review with the category it fits when you're done. Not sure that made any sense, so just ask any questions you have. :)

message 62: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Moore | 4 comments Never mind, after reading everyone's comments, I believe I understand. I thought the teams were separate categories/challenges.

Thank you!

message 64: by Angelina (new)

Angelina | 21 comments Hey, I had a question regarding the song descriptions and if they would match the book I am reading. It is called Mortal Gods and it has Greek gods, who are slowly dying despite being immortal. Does that still count for song #10 Youth-Troye Sivan?
Oh, and besides that, what would define an unreliable narrator?

message 65: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yes, that would count for #10

For unreliable narrator it just needs to be a narrator that you're not sure if you're getting the real/whole story from. I'll try and post some examples of books that use this. There are a lot.

message 66: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Angelina, here is a list on goodreads that includes books with unreliable narrators (you're book does not have to come from here, but this might give you an idea of what we're looking for): https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/6...

Betwixt the Pages (betwixtthesepages) | 85 comments @Courtney

If we read a book as an ARC through Netgalley, and can't post the review until later in the year (in my case, not until May) will you accept detailed status updates in lieu of a full review?

message 69: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yes, that's perfectly fine. :)
