It depends on how we want to strategize. We could plan ahead and list books/descriptions we could complete. Then divide them up between us, so we all can plan our reads and know what we need to get done.
Or, we could just read and fulfill categories as we read books.
think we would be better to plan it from what i have read so far or we may end up with to many in some and not enough in others. i have also seen a mention of extra point dependingon the books you read do you know anything about that ?
I agree that planning ahead sounds like the better plan. :)I think the extra point comes from buddy reads for books that are over 450 pages, but I'm not sure -- haven't looked into all the rules for this challenge yet.
Here are some of the books I plan on reading -- at least twelve of these books. Anyone want to buddy read some??
Okay, I just read the entire rules and I think I finally get how this challenge works. We need to try and complete all four parts of the challenge by dividing them up between us (we don't have to do the tasks in order, so that's good!). We can complete the challenge parts four times total, but no one can do the same description twice.So... how about we work on assigning descriptions?? There's 37 tasks, so hopefully we can all take at least seven tasks this first time through the parts. :)
we just need the other members of our team to join the conversation to get organised. There are a couple of books on your list i could get access to to buddy read with you Melanie most i have not read the 1st one but i can get, If i Run and This Quiet Sky i could also read the 1st sirens book and buddy read Sirens Fury
If you get the first sirens book, I'll buddy read that one with you too (I can reread it). I'd love to do all the buddy reads you mentioned!
no I'm pretty open for dates if you would like to pick some. what country are you in as our days may be different I'm in Australia
I'm in the U.S.Okay. I'll look at picking the dates for those books this weekend and will give suggestions tomorrow or the next day, if that's okay?
yes thats fine with me I'm off to bed now will check back in tomorrow with luck the others will have been on
Abbie updated the series folder for Storm Siren, so we can use it for book one and then book two when we get to it. Here's the link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...(Later I'll update this post with all the buddy read links, so they are in one place.) :)
Hello all! I have made a spreadsheet with all the categories, so whenever a book is read, we can note the title and who read it. Then we can also note down any other categories the book fits into in case we want to finish sections sooner or repeat the challenge. I'm still in the process of going through my TBR to decide which books to read this month, but when I figure it all out, I'll let you know.
letter O, shoes on cover
letter F, blue cover

Gillian wrote: "if I'm doing this wrong please let me know :)"This looks great! I'll add them to the spreadsheet I made (and I'll post the link soon so everyone can post to it and edit it as needed).
Here is the link to the spreadsheet. You can see it and edit it as needed. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
I added every possibility I could think of for the books posted so far, so now I think if we try to post our own possible TBR, that would be fabulous.
Hopefully we will be able to use this as a tool for keeping track of all of our books, because there are a lot of categories.
Melanie i have had to order "If i Run" in so it won't be here till the 16th but i picked up the other 3 books
Hey, so I'm sorry for not responding (my goodreads app is an idiot). Here are the books that I'm definitely reading next month:
I know a few fit in the categories given, not sure about all. I'll try to be more active from now on.
By the way, I thought you only had to read one book from each category, which would mean 10 books for part 1. Upto 4 are allowed but you don't have to do 4. That is how the challenge goes, right?
That's right, you get bonus points for completeing the ten descriptions to complete a section, rather than completing each description 4 times (if that makes sense?)
Yeah, that makes sense. So, if we read a book from each category of part 1, we get a bonus point but not if we read 4 book of same description (like "couples on cover", etc). But if we read two book from each description in a part , does that mean we get bonus points twice?
from what i read we get extra points for buddy reads so those books need to cover more than one description in order for us to cover all descriptions in the 4 parts. i don't see anything about getting extra bonus points twice if we cover the part twice
Mystery if you could let me know which descriptions i will put them in for you i have done a couple but not knowing the books I'm sure they will cover more. the more books we can fill in the better then i guess we split what is left to cover.
Melanie can you add your books to Jessica's doc https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... if you are on a phone and its too hard let me know which descriptions your books fit and i will put them in for you
Gillian wrote: "Melanie can you add your books to Jessica's doc https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... if you are on a phone and its too hard let me kn..."Thanks, Gillian! I'll get to working on that now :D
Books are added. Hope I did it right -- some of my books work for several tasks, so I just listed them wherever they could work, and that way we can decide later where to put them. :)I noticed that If I Run was listed under Transportation on cover. What's the transportation?
Gillian, do these dates work for our BRs?
, Feb. 8th
, Feb. 18thAnd then Siren's Fury after we finish Storm Siren. ;)
