Alison (a1ison74) | 1050 comments Hi. I'm reading a book that's exactly 100 pages (I didn't realise when I started). Can I still use it or would it need to be 101 pages?

Books need to be more than 100 pages and 25 000 words. So you'd need 101 pages for it to count.

Alison (a1ison74) | 1050 comments Thanks I suspected as much. Do you think the author would write me another page if I asked nicely? :)

UNO Pixie | 1839 comments Haha, you can always try ;)

Use this form to sign on for the challenge and then you will be assigned to a group :)

message 160: by Konstantina✨️ (new)

Konstantina✨️ (itskt) | 12 comments Thank you but I've already done it (earlier today). Does that mean that sooner or later I'll get a notification about the group I'm in?

message 161: by UNO Pixie, Our UNO Helper (new)

UNO Pixie | 1839 comments Yes, you will get a PM with information about which team you will be assigned to etc. Though it might be a while yet. Karen who's in charge of the teams is sleeping for the moment, but will look into it as soon as she can.

Christina (chrissy__) | 1241 comments I'm thinking about reading Alice in Wonderland in German but I'm not sure about word count - help? :(

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 1572 comments Christina wrote: "I'm thinking about reading Alice in Wonderland in German but I'm not sure about word count - help? :("

Does GR have the German edition on it, if so the pages should work

message 165: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments Yes, page count is first. So, if you have a physical edition, check how many pages it is. If not, check Goodreads to see if they have the edition you have and see how may pages it is that way.

message 166: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 1241 comments ok I just thought the book has to have 100+ pages AND 25,000+ words since it actually is a Children's book, kinda :)

thanks for clarifying!

Christina - I think you're right. Karen did make that distinction.I forgot about it being a children's book. I would wait for her ruling and she can probably tell you how to get a word count too.

check arbookfinds.com the English should be close to the German word count?

Also, it depends on the version some don't have illustrations!

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments I would assume other languages will the same approximate count and the english version is 26,435 words so it does count.

message 175: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) hey, I have a last minute question for team Happy Feet! In our last hand we have a Draw 2 and we put in a book for the two card 1s we have for the same reason. I just wanted to make sure we could do that. Thanks!

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments Sure can!

message 177: by Lulu (new)

Lulu (lulufritz) | 704 comments I was recently made co-captain of team cars and I requested access to the spreadsheet but I haven't heard anything.
We have had a couple of late changes that need to be made but I don't think our other captain is online so I am just wondering if the spreadsheets are collected and gone over at the end of the whole challenge in May or if they are collected at the end of each month?
So if everything is updated tomorrow afternoon is that fine or does it have to be before time runs out on this month?

message 178: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (last edited Mar 31, 2016 11:35PM) (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments Sorry Lulu, please try again now and see if it works.
Yes you will have about 18 hours from the challenge end to finalise your spreadsheets before I check them all over and finalise march points :)

Alison (a1ison74) | 1050 comments I'm struggling to decide on the colour of a cover. Can I post here for a decision or is there a website I can use? I'm sure I remember one from a previous challenge but I'm struggling to find it.

message 181: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly In other challenges we have sometimes used this tool: Image Color Extract Using PHP to figure out the % of certain colour.
I hope it helps!

there's also a thread in the captians group, so ask your captain or co-captain

If you mouse over your profile icon, you should see next to "my groups" there is an invitation waiting. (sometimes the group invite notifications get missed) :)

Ora (oeamis) Will titles work for cards

Vice Chancellor Rhoades, when he is talked about along with speaking to him, he is always referred to as the Vice Chancellor or Vice Chancellor Rhoades

The 100 (The 100, #1) by Kass Morgan

message 186: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 3767 comments No for titles
(unless the persons name is a title, like how girls can be named "Queenie" for example)

message 192: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Question: What does it mean "Read a book with 2 and 5 in the page numbers (the edition you are reading)" Are you referring to the page numbers where it's listed number of pages in the book? Would that be like if there were 275 pages?

message 193: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Question: For Bingo, for the "birding" square, does it work if there's a feather on the cover of a book?

Andrea (ajareads) | 127 comments if another team member read the same book I'm reading now , lets say a couple days ago, does it still count in any hand?

Nanci | 1864 comments Alison wrote: "um, I am a co captain. Is there a group I should be visiting?"

I'm a new co-captain too. I didn't know about this group. Is there a way you can grant me access. My captain hasn't listed me as co-captain yet on our team's thread.

No, it needs to be a bird or a whole wing

Perks Moderator | 594 comments Andrea wrote: "if another team member read the same book I'm reading now , lets say a couple days ago, does it still count in any hand?"

There is no requirement to read different books.

Do you mean, can your book count as a reverse as your team member read it? Then, yes
