SOLVED. mongoose and coconut, children's book [s]

I have a friend looking for a book she read to her child about 14 years ago. It was a stand alone picture book, not a story in a collection. Was about a mongoose, named Molki(?), and a coconut. At one point, the mongoose was trying to get the coconut to be his friend, and the coconut was not responding because, well, it was a coconut. It is not Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, which comes up on any search for a children's book about a mongoose.

I found two other children's books about Mongooses (mongeese?) that look like possibilities:

Maile and the marvelous one (can't find much info, but the name is not a million miles off Molki)
Runaway Marie Louise (A bit more of a longshot, but maybe worth checking out)

Neither of those, I checked with my friend. We will keep looking, and thanks for the try, I think we will get this one!
