Think it works out to about 40 books.

If I'm not mistaken they were written by Peter Hamilton, not Alistair Reynolds. Both great writers, enjoy them both, but very different styles.

This year, I'm for sure planning on Long Price Quartet, Lyonesse, The Magicians, and The Malazan Book of the Fallen. I'm also going to check out The Chronicles of St. Mary's because it sounds interesting/hilarious. I'm on the fence about The Dark Tower series. I really did not like the first book at all, and honestly I'm not a Stephen King fan anyway. My husband keeps telling me they get so much better though, so I may check out the 2nd book and see how I feel. There are so many books I'm excited to read that I just don't know if I want to waste my time on something I'm unsure about.

I really liked the First Law series. I read it in September of last year, along with all the other standalones set in the world.
I also loved Daniel Abraham’s Long Price Quartet when I read it several years ago. I’m planning to read his newer series, Dagger and the Coin, later this year once he publishes the last book. I think it’s due out in March. I prefer to read a series all at once, after it’s complete, so I don’t often read series that are still in progress. I see that the people participating in this year’s group challenge plan to read the first book in April, so I might join in then if I’m at a good stopping point on whatever else I’m reading.
That’s pretty much my most definite reading plan for the year. Well, I do definitely plan to read Tigana this year but it’s easy to say that because I’m reading it right now. :)
I don’t really plan out my reading book-by-book, but I do maintain a list of books that I’m most interested in reading in the near future – usually either books I already own or books that I’m especially interested in. When I choose my next read, it usually comes from that list. The list definitely doesn’t represent everything I want to read, but just the ones I’m most likely to read in the near future. I also keep a list of incomplete series that I really want to read once they’re complete, like the aforementioned Dagger and the Coin series.

The Golem and the Jinni, Memory, Stand on Zanzibar, To Say Nothing of the Dog, Wild Seed, Skin Folk, Endymion, Blindness, Zoe's Tale, The City and the Stars, Adulthood Rites and Great North Road.
I reserve the right to adjust the list as per monthly club readings and Amazon kindle book sales... ;-)

There are some Mira Grant's on there, John Scalzi (the rest of the Old Man's War series), Gentleman Bastards, a Connie Willis title, and a quite a few classics like Sherlock Holmes.
