What did you think? I have had indexing for awhile but have not gotten to it

I loved both of them. They were originally released as Kindle serials--1 chapter released every 2 weeks--which is how I read Indexing. They are a wonderful mix of crime fighting drama (which never gets old for me) and fairy tales. Despite their episodic nature, there is a through line to each story.

I didn't even know this was coming out, until my sister told me, so I grabbed it and read it. One of my favorite all time sci fi series.
I do have a quick question on the recommendation. Most of what I read is because I see someone here talking about it. So if I see someone recommend something on the what are you reading thread and pick it up because of that does it count? Or do I need to specifically ask for one?

Just finished

I'm pretty flexible on this. Pretty much so long as it wasn't something you really had on your radar and it was suggested (to you or a group at large) by someone who has read it, then I say it counts!
Also, thanks for reminding me. I've really been meaning to get back into reading some more Bujold. I've definitely enjoyed the first of the Vorkosogan (probably spelled that horribly!) series and I hear that the second is REALLY good.

So you need to start reading it by this Sunday, at the latest :)

I've already started and I think I'll finish it by the end of the month anyway, but needed to make sure. Thanks!!!

Dang, Diane. That is an excellent question! I totally agree that a Graphic Novel is just a different format and yet... somehow it's more than that. And "comics and graphic novels" totally have their own BISAC category (BISAC is a list of subject codes used for books).
Let me ask for some opinions from the other mods and get back on this!

Hi Laurel - unfortunately, you already have a book for the "new author" category. We're..."
Oh damn. I didn't read the instructions right at all. I can put "Fangirl" into the "new genre" category since I don't usually read contemporary YA. Post #9 is updated again!

How did you like the book? This is one of my most favorite books :)"
I really enjoyed it! It was my first book by her and it was excellent.

Have you read the Rephaim Series by Paula Weston? Modern Fantasy with angels-I loved it! https://www.goodreads.com/series/7250...

I'm also looking for recommendations. My tastes are similar to Kdbrand's. I looked at the Rephaim series but it doesn't seem to be at my library or available on Kindle. Any other recommendations?

Okay - We all pretty much agree that the whole point is to get folks reading something that's new to them - and Graphic Novels are clearly new to you. So we'd totally count it :)

Thanks! When I looked, I couldn't find it.

I've already read the first book, so the series isn't "new" to me. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Alright going from your TBR I have these for you:

Some that you didn't have on TBR that you may like:

This was my "new genre" book because it is non-YA, and way out of my comfort zone.
Ps. If you're into dark, kind of twisted suspense (definitely an adult read) I really recommend this!
