Sheri...I am about 65% into Whispers (listening to on audio) and if it wasn't audio I don't know if I could make it all the way through. I am hoping to finish tonight

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments I am reading the actual book and really struggling to get through it. Glad I am not the only one. It would be easier I think with the audio. Wish I had it.

I think I've heard a couple of others comment that they were having trouble getting through it also. That's a shame. I am still waiting for a copy from the library...I'm not worried about getting it now.

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments I am a little disappointed, it had been on my to read list for a while. I got in to it a little in the beginning but now I am just not that interested. I will find a way to get through it.

You know, it happens once in awhile - a book that you anticipated to be pretty good disappoints you. If it was bothering me that much, I'd just dnf it and move on.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 9 comments Yeah, I agree with you, Sheri. I was going to read it in book format but the elibrary just bought an audio copy so thought I would try it and so glad I did that. (I think it was just recently reissued).

Lol, Sandra!

Sandra - It's one of those books where you have struggled and gotten to the point you have to see how it plays out!

Quite the reading machine, you! Good slate of books, Sheri. I've got Fatal Frenzy on my plan this month.

I finished listening to The Bay At Midnight by Diane Chamberlain and while I liked the story, one of the narrators, Julie McKay, had a highly annoying affectation. Whenever she had to say, "he/she said," she would separate it from the sentence and draw out "sa-aid" as if it were a question. It was extremely distracting, which is such a shame because otherwise, the performance of all three narrators was fine. 3.5 stars and here's my review.

I'm now listening to Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt, narrated by Ashford Mcnab.

I understand that too. There's just so many great books out there that I struggle with making myself finish something that isn't holding my attention.

message 83: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments I'm reading the Forever and Always trilogy by E.L. Todd. I'm certainly glad that I got this collection for free, or I'd be annoyed. The premise of the stories is good but the writing is sophomoric, the 2 main characters are irritating, the books have instalove( a huge pet peeve of mine) and some of the scenarios just don't make sense. Thank goodness I'm almost done.

message 84: by Laura (new)

Laura I'm reading Misconduct by Penelope Douglas . Not a series but couldn't resist the library actually having a new release available.

The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick - was just bored. maybe expected more or different then it was.

The Dragon's Path (The Dagger and the Coin, #1) by Daniel Abraham - pretty good regular old adult fantasy. Politics, war, mention of magic and dragons. I dont know what it is with some of the adult fantasy though and having some parts that are unnecessarily graphic or crude. Maybe to remind the reader its adult I dont know.

I didn't cry when I read it. It was very poignant in the way it began. I think you can read it now unless you were wanting to save it for closer to the release date of the next one.
