About Face by Fern Michaels About Face in paperback by Fern Michaels
Casey Edwards has spent the last 10 years in Sanctuary, a mental hospital. She has been released with no recollection of her past and why she was sent there. Dr. Blake Hunter finds her wandering around town and starts up a sweet friendship with Casey. Casey and Blake are determined to unravel her past and get her memory back. This story is full of secrets, greed, murder, betrayals and romance. The characters were so developed and believable. (Just wish she would have used some other names for some. Too many that started with 'R' that I had to really think who was who). This was a book I really had a hard time putting down. Full of mystery and suspense. I just loved it!! 5 stars

Yesterday by Fern Michaels Yesterday started in paperback
Bravo! Bravo! Story of four young children from many backgrounds who come together under the same household to be cared by a African American housekeeper named Mama Pearl. The story flashbacks to their pasts, secrets, dreams, desires and friendship up to adulthood. How each character evolves, the secrets that comes out. A book of love, betrayals, tragedies, forgiveness, some history, mysteries and romance. I figured out some of the ending half way through, but other incidents just blew me away. I thought the characters were so strong, unique and believable. Each person had their unique characteristics. I found this book so hard to put down. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I absolutely LOVED it!! +++ 5 stars

Someday Her Duke Will Come by Ellie St. Clair Someday Her Duke Will Come on Kindle for a review for author
Tillie is a dress designer from a well to-do family. Her parents only want her to marry and be the perfect wife and hostess. Tillie doesn't want to marry and to just pursue her career. Alexander is the Duke of Barre and was taken with Tillie at her best friends wedding. The only way he can get her to give him a chance is to make up a scheme regarding his ex fiance and to make a deal with her to benefit her career. This was a fun, quick story to read. I loved to see the heroine very independent and strong willed and the hero not to be the rake people think he is. The banter between them both and with the ex fiance was fun. A great little historic romance story.
**Was given this book free for an authors review** 5 stars

Sweet Lake A Novel (Sweet Lake, #1) by Christine Nolfi Sweet Lake: A Novel By Christine Nolfi on Kindle
Linnie has had to take on the family Wayfair Inn after her reckless brother Freddie stole the money and many of the towns shops and jobs, not to mention the families money and left for California to make movies. Linnie has dutifully tried to bring the Inn back to run for profit again. The Wayfair's have the legacy that only the male heir has rights to the Inn, so when Freddie 'grows up', he will before full owner and manager of the Inn. Linnie had hoped her brother would never show his face again, but when the "Siren's" filter the local mail and find out 'brother dearest' is coming into town, Linnie is furious. The Siren's are a group of women who reminded me very much of the Ya'Ya's. Freddie hires Linnie's heartthrob Daniel to do some secret work for him which puts their relationship (what there is of one) in turmoil. The goings on between siblings, family, friends, co-workers and boy-friend make this book out to be very interesting and funny. What I didn't care for was, too many characters to try to keep track of and I felt the book was too drawn out where I lost interest at times. I think it could have been condensed and still have the wonderful characters and story lines. With that being said, I would still love to read more in this series. 4 stars
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Read Copy of this book**

This was a surprise find for me. Needed a book that took place in Florida for a challenge. Did not think I would like it as much as I did. The series seems promising so hopefully the next book will be as good as this 1st one turned out. Fair warning - although the the book's mystery is solved, it still ends on a cliffhanger as the series has an running plot/mystery. Free with Kindle Unlimited.

The Highland Hero (Lairds of Dunkeld Series) (A Medieval Scottish Romance Story) by Emilia Ferguson The Highland Hero (Lairds of Dunkeld Series) An Advance Reader copy by Emilia Ferfuson on Kindle
I'm sorry but The Highland Hero was not one of my favorites in the series. It was not as action packed. A romance between Chrissie, the youngest of the girls and Blaine, the Man at Arms. Chrissie is at a crossroad of who she really loves and wants to marry, Heath or Blaine. Once she finally decides she is kidnapped by enemies. She looses her innocence from rape, but sure gets over it fast for Blaine. Drama continues through the story even after marrying Blaine. Past characters make an appearance: Amabel, Analis, Broderick and Duncan and Aunt Alli, along with the new children. What I didn't not like was all the tears, crying and sobbing. It seems every time the two were together there were tears for both of them, no matter what emotion. It got very old to read. Blaine, for being this tough Man at Arms cried a lot. Not very manly for the time period. I really have enjoyed her series and will continue to read her works, but I felt this to be a lame ending. 3 stars
