I finished listening to Paris for One and Other Stories by Jojo Moyes, a delightful collection of short stories and one novella. Definitely worth listening to versus reading if you can. Here's my review.

I'm now listening to Into the Light by Aleatha Romig, The Light #1. I've listened to three hours and it is creepy but I'm completely into it.

I hate when kindle releases late. I much prefer holding a physical book in my hands and buying ebooks doesn't make me nearly as giddy as buying hard copies, I just deal with it because I love being able to take so many books around with me without hurting my back or arms or shoulders hahahaha.

I agree about what you said about books and ebooks. There is something special about holding an actual book, but I don't regret my Kindle Fire at all (just got it March of this year).

I have space issues because of how many books I have. I literally have containers of them stacked. And since I read certain books so much I tend to have to get another down the road, I figure letting go of that helps the environment as well as my space issues too. :D

Plus, with Kindle Unlimited, it's like having access to a huge library (minus major authors like Nora. But still worth the $10/month.).

same problem. All of my bookshelves broke on my move to Las Vegas so I have 2k books just in bins and it's so hard to try and find the ones that I want to read lol space is definitely an issue for me as well and I refuse to give them up so it will always be an issue haha. Kindle Unlimited is awesome! I also use overdrive to rent library ebooks from my library system so as long as the Clark County Library District has it, I can get it on loan. They only let you add a library you are actually a member of though so that makes me sad or I'd join every library in the nation. Bottom line, while I have a preference, as long as I'm reading I don't care how it's happening lol.

Britney | 380 comments Hey everyone! I feel like I've been gone so long, and I miss all my Goodreads friends:))

I got in a weird overwhelming place with my books so I went back and visited some of my old favs and now I'm even more confused as to what I want to read next. Old favorites comfort you but they also make you feel homesick after your done.
So I've been re reading some of the only YA books that I have fallen in love with there are three short books to each trilogy and three trilogies with an extra book to bring it all to an end. Three best friends(2 girls, one guy) have their own trilogy but they are so short it equals out to being one book a piece.

First it's The Redemption Series Combined Edition by R.K. Ryals . Then The Acropolis Series Combined Edition by R.K. Ryals . And last is Cursed (The Thorne Trilogy, #1) by R.K. Ryals , Possessed (The Thorne Trilogy, #2) by R.K. Ryals , Dancing with the Devil (The Thorne Trilogy, #3) by R.K. Ryals . Followed with the ending Revelation (Redemption, #4) by R.K. Ryals .
I love them all so much :)

Okay that makes sense then. On top of working almost full time as an online personal trainer and freelance bookkeeper, I compete in the NPC Bikini Division so I'm in the gym at least 2 hours a far if not more and I chase around my almost two year old. I can power throw GG a couple books a week which is good for me. I usually try to shoot for 150-200 per year but the last two years have been my rut, feels good to be out of it though. I luckily get to use my cardio time as reading time which helps lol and I guess I read decently fast all things considered. I just wish I could read more and faster- there's too many books I want to read in this lifetime dang it! Lol

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) So here's my long-ish list of books that I think might be interesting since last gave my last big list of recommended books early-mid November. :D

Continued on the Good Hope series with book 2: Summer in Good Hope (Good Hope #2) by Cindy Kirk . Really liking it so far. The 3rd book is set to release Jan. 31st and am keeping fingers crossed that it'll be another winner.

===========================================

Came across the Chocoholics series by Tara Sivec. Loved it. The first book is the funniest of the three, the second the most emotional and the last was probably the least of my favorites.

Warning: it's freaking hilarious IF you enjoy crude humor.
Review links for the first and second books:
Love and Lists (Chocoholics, #1) by Tara Sivec - My Review

==========================================

Down on Love (Marsden #1) by Jayne Denker (first in the Marsden series) - My Review
Tl;dr - 3 stars. It was okay, though female MC was a bit annoying. Plan on giving the 2nd book a go because despite things, it seems like it has potential.

=============================================

Imperfect Series by Mary Frame
Imperfect Chemistry (Imperfect, #1) by Mary Frame - My Review
Imperfectly Criminal (Imperfect, #2) by Mary Frame - Book 2 but no review.

To sum it up - it's a pretty good series. But be aware the "feel" and flow of the first and second books are different from each other and really reflect the characters' emotional states, in my opinion.

Such as in the first book, it starts off a bit slow and awkward just like the female main character. If you can bear with it for the first couple of chapters, it really does improve.

The second book's synopsis had me wary. I half expected things to be way over the top and annoying. But I found that the main characters showed a lot of growth and ended up enjoying the book and found the added mystery a good pull.

There is a 3rd book, but haven't gotten to it yet but plan to.

=====================================

Like A Boss by Logan Chance - My Review

After having some time to digest it all, I kind of am rethinking that 4 star review. It was decent and I feel it does have potential but at the same time, I feel myself dreading getting into book 2.

I just worry it's going to end up becoming a total soap opera and although I love my romances and the drama at times, I really don't want to read a series that turns out to be a "Days of Our Lives" thing.

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) Catch of the Day (Gideon's Cove, #1) by Kristan Higgins
Came across the Gideon's Cove series thanks to a challenge :D I didn't have high hopes so was very pleasantly surprised by the turnout.

I wouldn't say it was anywhere near a 5 star rating for me, but a definite solid 4. At some point in the future, I do plan on giving book 2 a go.

Playing with Fire (Skulduggery Pleasant, #2) by Derek Landy - My Review

The Faceless Ones (Skulduggery Pleasant, #3) by Derek Landy My Review

Short Summary: Book 2 sucked. Totally disappointed. Book 3 bounced back and rocked it. Totally back to being happy and excited about the series.

============================================

THE ATA BITA PIE CAFE by Bonnie Drury - My Review

Decent standalone read.

============================================

The Thief of Always by Clive Barker - My Review

Highly recommended to read at least once. Love this book.

========================================

The Lightning Horse by John Moore - My Review

(It's a really short review. Pretty much says this book is hilarious and would recommend)

=============================================

Betrayed by Magic (The Baine Chronicles, #5) by Jasmine Walt - 5th book in the Baine Chronicles.

I have enjoyed the overall series but this one fell flat and disappointed me. :( It wasn't horrible, but I definitely had to knock my usual 4 stars to a 3. Beginning and ending were good but the middle left much to be desired.

Still planning on reading book 6 and can only hope it'll bounce back.

============================================

A Cranberry Inn Christmas by Beth Ehemann

I love this series. To note, the author has broken up the series in an odd kind of manner. Although this is part of the Cranberry Inn series because it focuses mostly on the Murphys, you'll want to read about Viper and Andy before this novella.

So the order would be:

Cranberry Inn #1-3 (including 2.5)
Viper's Heart #1 and #2
Andy's Story - Even the Score
....and then this book.

And about Viper's stories real quick. Viper is foul-mouthed and crude. You will hate him at the beginning. Stick with him though and he won't let you down. He does grow up....mostly. ;)

=============================================

Last Wish (Highland Magic, #4) by Helen Harper - last of the series. *CRIES*

The Cowboy's Runaway Bride by Nancy Robards Thompson The Cowboy's Runaway Bride by Nancy Robards Thompson in autographed paperback that I won in the Giveaway. Finished. 5 stars
I was honored to receive this autographed book to read and give an honest review. Lady Chelsea Ashford Alden ( AKA Chelsea Allen) is running away to hide to her friends place in Celebration Texas from England after her ex-fiancé' sold a sex tape of them to the tabloids. Her family has more or less banished her until she gets her life together. Ethan Campbell finds Chelsea breaking in to her friends place through the bathroom window and immediately is curious of this burglar. Chelsea needs to stay under the radar but the caring community of Celebration, Ethan's sister Lucy and Chelsea and Ethan's attraction makes that hard to do. Can Chelsea keep her secret and care for this man at the same time? Will Chelsea risk her relationship and possible future with Ethan by telling him the sordid truth? Fun, romantic fast read. It's a great story of community, forgiveness, second chances and love. Strong and well defined characters and the author does a wonderful job describing the community of Celebration and the people in it. I would love to live there. Definitely need to read more of her books. So enjoyable!!
