Falling For You At Christmas (a holiday novella): Shellwater Key Tales by Kristen Wallace on Kindle. Finished 11/08/2016.
Cassie is very pregnant and alone after the baby's father has abandoned them along with her family. She is taking a much needed vacation to escape before the baby arrives after Christmas in Shellwater Key, Florida. Arriving to find her reservation has been cancelled due to a computer glitch. The hunky, gorgeous and single owner of the Original Inn on the Strip suggests she stays with him and his daughter. All the people she encounters have names associated with the Christmas story. This was a predictable, fun, easy holiday read. The reason I didn't give it five stars, as I found it very unbelievable and very "sappy" at times. Yet, I would definitely recommend it for it's lightheartedness, sweet, romantic read.

Somewhere Warm: A New Year's Eve Short Romance by G.G. Andrew on Kindle Finished 11/09/16

This was such a fun and entertaining short read. Zoe has only heard one side of the story regarding her best friend Haley and Evans breakup. Now Zoe finds herself stranded in a blizzard at Evan's cabin trying to pick up her best friends belongings on New Years Eve. "Before I met Evan, I hated him." We never know the real truth when hearing only the "she said" side. I loved how the author brought on this hate/love relationship and the dialogue and scenario was fabulous. The romance was hot, the weather cold and the fun, great. I would certainly recommend this book on a cold, winters night. 5 stars

I finished book 2 in the Mongomery/Armstrong trilogy by Maya Banks. Historical romance, and I LOVED it!

Finished by Ava miles. First in a contemporary romance series. And it was sweet and pretty good. Not great for me though.

Also finished by Danelle Harmon, first in a historical romance series. And it was also good but not great for me.

Now I'm reading by Kit Rocha 3rd book in the series, erotic dystopian romance.

Finished reading Skulduggery Pleasant last night. So in love with this and want to read the series.

Only problem is only 1-3 are available on the Kindle for the US. For some reason, he isn't publishing his stuff in the US anymore.

But found the 9 books for this series on Ebay for $50 (including shipping from the UK).

There is news that next summer he's reviving the series with book 10. It's going to suck if he decides to still not publish in the US. *cries a little*

Oh, also read On Any Given Sundae yesterday. It's an easy read romance and I found it entertaining enough to decide to try out the next book in the Sweet series - (Double Dipping - reading it right now).

A Cowboy For Christmas by Rachel Hannah on Kindle. Starting my holiday reading. Finished 11/14/16.
This was a fun, short holiday romance story. I would suggest putting your feet up, get a warm comfy blanket, cup of hot cocoa and a fire lit and escape. Great story!! 5 stars

It was a very sweet felt and easy read filled with moments that would tug at your heart.

The series only has 2 books so far, with the 3rd being released in January. If you have Kindle unlimited, it's free, otherwise each book is $3.99 for Kindle US.

Finished reading the Sweetwater series, Pretty good. I like her Southern Comfort series more, but this has potential to be just as good if she continues on with it.
(I wish she would. I really want to know what happens to Harlan, Bran, Julie, etc. And I hope that bitch, Victoria, gets more of the karma she deserves.)



For those who haven't even started the series, my suggestion is to start with Sweetwater and then read the Southern Comfort prequel trilogy before starting on the SC series.

The reasoning in it contains a spoiler, so if you want to go in 100% blind, then don't open the spoiler below.

The 3rd/last book of Sweetwater includes Jesse Wellington and for reasons I won't go into, it's pretty obvious it takes place before his story in Southern Comfort (the prequel) - Avarice.

Now technically you don't have to read Sweetwater before SC, but if you're a little OCD like me then you'll want to. :P It takes nothing away from the stories, though.

Both series (including the prequel trilogy) are available on Kindle Unlimited (US).

The Pastors daughter has spend her late teens and adult life caring for her father and siblings after the death of her mother. She has watched everyone "have a life", and now she wants her turn. Her first blind date finds her on a dusty highway when her car dies. She left her phone behind and has no way of calling for anyone, even her blind date. Her knight and shining armor comes cruising up to help her. While waiting for the tow truck they share in a conversation and a dance. The almost kiss is broken by the tow truck. Her luck to find this incredibly gorgeous, compassionate man and then have him walk away in her life. Until...she finds out he is the person interviewing for her fathers position as pastor, seeing he is retiring. This was a quick, quirky, fun, romantic, holiday read. 5 stars

Four wonderful holiday romance stories. "Silver Bells" by Fern Michaels, "Dear Santa. . ." by JoAnn Ross, "Christmas Past" by Mary Burton, and "A Mulberry Park Christmas" by Judy Duarte. All well written, entertaining short stories for those cold, winter nights. I love these sort of stories this time of year.

On Christmas Eve in the Sweet Christmas Kisses 3 collection by Mona Risk on Kindle. Finished 11/30/2016 5 stars
This is a cute, holiday, romance story. Tiffany broke off her engagement with Matthew 5 years ago after she caught him kissing another woman in a bar. She never gave Matthew a chance to explain. Now she finds herself working in the same hospital. Its a fast read and a lot of fun, especially with the twins. I didn't give it a 5 star review because I felt the dialogue was a bit too "sappy" and unrealistic. But all in all, a fun read with a good cup of hot cocoa.

Help! My nine year old great niece needs to find book series to read. She has just finished Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I thought maybe Anne of Green Gables would be good, if I am worried about age appropriateness (she is in the third grade) and whether the series is outdated for her. She loves Star Wars, so I have some concern whether she would make the historical jump very well. Any advice is welcome.

Hmmm. I remember Anne of Green Gables at around her age and I was a huge Star Wars fan myself (the original of course, haha). I would say it's a definite should read at least once book (or series if she ends up liking it enough). I still enjoy both to this day.

Just depends on her, to be honest. She might end up really liking historical based books. Never know.

Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy - Loved the first book in the series but didn't like the 2nd so much. Reading 3 and 4 this month so hopefully it goes well. Just a warning - You can only find books 1-3 on Kindle for the US. I had to buy the (physical)series off of Ebay. There are 9 books (with #10 reenergizing the series and coming out this coming June or July) but he stopped publishing in the US. I got them for $55 with shipping.

The Magical Cats series by Sofie Kelly (Book 1: Sleight of Paw) - not sure if age appropriate for a 9 year old though.

Discworld series by Terry Pratchett
(To note - I started my love of Discworld with the Wyrd Sisters and not the first 2 books. It's been suggested (even by me) that if you want to get into the series, start off with one of the others. Although wouldn't recommend Pyramids either to start. Wasn't a huge fan.)

If you can find any of the babysitters club books still those were my favorite when I was her age... also the little house books as well! Stuart Little, the secret garden and a little princess were books I would continually check out at the elementary school library.:-)

My mom used to collect the old (1st & 2nd) editions of them. Have them in a big old container right now. Now I want to read them! And add on to them eventually. Have a lot, but not the entirety of the series, I don't think.

Christmas Holly by Christine Bush on Kindle. Finished 12/12/2016. 5 stars
This is in a set of Sweet Kisses. A sweet story of a woman who comes to the beach to take care of her sisters home and animals after she has been deployed. Holly knows nothing about animals or children, so meeting a man with 5 year old triplets is an awakening for her. A quick, fun holiday romance read. I would recommend it for this time of the year.
