Sounds like Christmas!! :))
I'm the same way with picking what to read next, and I just said the exact thing you said just days ago to someone who asked me lol. I'll know it when I find it because it will just speak to me lol.

Rebecca Madsen | 19 comments It felt like Christmas! I had to rearrange my book cases to make them all fit. I have a cat who like to take books apart if you leave them out so I had to put doors on all my bookcases so he would stop taking them off the shelves at night. I'm almost completely out of bookcase space now. I guess my next present to myself will be a new bookcase.

Lol, we are definitely in the minority where it comes to Butch and Marissa. I also don't care for them as a couple. I had to take a break from Dark Hunters somewhere in the middle, which is why it took me two years to get through the series. I think I did BDB in a couple of months.

The Christmas Club by Barbara Hinske The Christmas ClubJust started on Kindle on a pre-review by my own choosing, The Christmas Club by Barbara Hinske. Finished 10/16/2016
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The year is 1952 post war and Verna feels this will be the best Christmas she has had in a long time. She has been able to save money in her Christmas Club account. When she is leaving the bank a large gust of wind blows that money away. She is of course devastated by losing all of her money. Two strangers come to her aid and look for her money. Unable to rescue it, they decide to give her some of their money instead with her thinking they found it. This generous event triggers the start of heartfelt, happiness and magic in many other strangers lives. This story gives you such warm and fuzzy feelings and shows you that there is good in people. It tugs at your heartstrings. The characters were so well defined and believable. This book is a book not just for the holidays, but for any time and to be read by anyone. I would highly recommend this book!! 5 stars

message 924: by ♥ Joy Joy ♥ (last edited Oct 14, 2016 05:40PM) (new)

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) Some interesting reads I've finished that I think are noteworthy/recommendable since I last posted:

Lost and Found series by J.M. Madden - this is a Contemporary Romance/Military series that I personally just love. :D
First book of the series:
Embattled Hearts (Lost and Found, #1) by J.M. Madden
===========================================

Beyond Volume One (Beyond, #1-3) by Kit Rocha
A Dystopia/Erotica genre series that I think is very well done overall (sex/kink, action, relationships, character development, etc)...especially the incorporation of bdsm. HAWT! Makes me want to go get some O'Kane ink.

Just finished book 6. Have 7 and 8 pending but unsure if I'll read them anytime soon because the 9th book (which will be the last in the series) is set to come out in December.

Though sad, I'm glad to hear that a spin off will be coming out afterwards that will be covering a different sector (Gideon's..but I can't remember the sector number at the moment). Hope it'll be as good as the Sector 4's series!
===========================================

The Dark Queen Collection Books 1-3 (Dark Queens) by Jovee Winters
The Dark Queen series has been, overall, fantastic. I've downloaded the latest release (The Fairy Queen) and really looking forward to reading it this weekend. Totally in love with how the author has decided to handle the retellings of these.
===========================================

Freaky Days (Mystic Caravan, #1) by Amanda M. Lee
The Mystic Caravan series is relatively new and only has two books out currently. I think the 3rd will be released in early January. I've only read this first one, but have the 2nd one that I plan to read this weekend. I'm loving the concept and have grown to like the characters so far. Hopefully this continues with the second and eventual third book.
===========================================

Not Quite Perfect (Not Quite Series, #5) by Catherine Bybee
Catherine Bybee's newest in the Not Quite series. I really liked this book and the series so if you are looking for something new - I say definitely give this series a go.
===========================================

Standalones I'd Recommend:
Hunter's Choice by A.J. Downey
Very very sweet story. The female main character really touched my heart.

The 'Ohana Tree ('Ohana, #1) by Rebecca Addison
A different read for me, but one I thought was well done..considering the setting (Hawaii). I say that because the few books I've read that takes place in a Hawaii setting or features people from Hawaii have portrayed really awkward characters and horrendous attempts at the dialogue. This author nailed it pretty well, in my opinion.

Oh and if you do read it, the author has said that there will be a sequel. I thought the ending was just one of those sad, open but sweet endings, but it turns out it was more a cliffhanger (which I'm so happy to discover).

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
LOVE THIS BOOK. For me, it hooked me from the start and was so easy to stay intrigued and entertained. I kind of hate the ending though. It is similar to the ending in The 'Ohana Tree where it's a sort of sad but sweet ending that leaves it to the imagination of the readers to wonder what happens to the main characters.

Eggsistentialism What I Learned about Life from Chickens by Lynne Paris Purtle
If anyone is looking for an easy, but mostly entertaining, non-fiction read - I suggest this one.

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) Jonetta wrote: "That's quite a lot of reading, Joy!"

And those were just the ones I thought were really good..hahaha.

And I forgot two more I just finished:

Kissing Frogs by Rich Amooi
Just a heads up - this isn't a supernatural/paranormal read. I found the female main character a little "hmmm"...I kind of liked her, but I kind of didn't.

I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend buying this, but if you have Kindle Unlimited - I say give it a go only because there is a scene with ranch dressing involved that is hilarious!
===============================================

And the other one is the first in a new series called Legendary Consultants by Abigail Owen
Her Demigod Complex In Love With Her Demigod Billionaire Boss (Legendary Consultants) by Abigail Owen

So far there are only two books in the series. The first is $0.99 and the second is free if you have Kindle Unlimited.

I decided to take a chance on this and the first book was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was really apprehensive that there would be a huge amount of back and forth/wishy washiness..but was pleasantly surprised.

Hopefully the series will be good. The second book is pending on my kindle so I might be back in here with bad news if it goes completely downhill.
