Such a tough call. Wise Mans Fear or Way of Kings or Red Rising or A Darker Shade of Magic or Providence of Fire or Knights Shadow .
Non sff I think it was An Officer and a Spy by Robert Harris for me

YES A monster calls! I've leant my copy to more people than I can remember. Easily one of the best books I've ever read. Though I'm still not ready to read it again.

For me it was definitely Miles Cameron's The Dread Wyrm. I love those really complex series and it is such an interesting mix of historical fiction elements and unique fantasy aspects.
Mpauli I have The Fell Sword on my shelf to read this year which will likely lead to the Dread Wyrm as well. I read the Red Knight and highly enjoyed it.
I had great year of reading this year with many high scoring books. For sci-fi Red Rising and Morning Star took it, I read so much great fantasy this year but Brian Stavelys books ranked high. Favourite Fantasy though was the first 3 books of John Gwynne's Faithful and the Fallen series (Malice, Valor, & Ruin)
For a non-SFF book it would be The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde or Stephen King's The Stand.
Hard to choose just one for each category because of such a great year!

I really enjoyed Tigana it was one of my favorite reads of the year, but my favorite would have to be Next of Kin: My Conversations with Chimpanzees. I'm not usually a big fan of non fiction but that book made me very emotional.
My favorites were The Martian and Insomnia and, because I'm a physical sciences nerd, Molecules: The Elements and the Architecture of Everything.

I almost said The Martian as well, even though it was my best read of 2014 I re-read it twice this past year and loved it.

I can't choose one so my top three are:
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides (non sff)
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
The Young Elites by Marie Lu

Currently read the final book in Brian Staveley's Chronicles of the Unhewn Throne trilogy. The first two (as a pair) were in my top 5 of 2015 and so far the last mortal bond has been great. If it keeps at the quality of the first third I believe it will be the best of the three.
