Thanks Kate! Beginning to wonder about my sanity!

Sue | 1296 comments Z. Zarqa. Laughing All The Way To The Mosque by Zarqa Nawaz . So enjoyed this autobiography of a muslim woman living in Canada. Very funny but so much information about Islam ...... and families.

Sue | 1296 comments M. Melody/Max. Hotel Juliet by Belinda Seaward unusual story about a girl who goes to Zambia to find out about her past. Didn't guess the story at all.

message 7: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 970 comments that's a great idea sue, and a country I've not done as well. I've only read crime and punishment many years ago so I'm quite inspired to look up your choice as well.

Sue | 1296 comments H. David Hunter. The Calling of the Grave (David Hunter, #4) by Simon Beckett Gave him H as he was rarely referred to by his first name. Third or forth in the series about a medical pathologist. Good murder mystery set on Dartmoor. Good on location.

message 9: by Sue (last edited Jan 27, 2016 05:36AM) (new)

Sue | 1296 comments U. Ute. Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller . Girl is taken to a remote place in the mountains by her father, who believes its the end of the world. Good story but perhaps a bit overlong in the descriptions. Ute is her concert pianist mother.

message 10: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments C. Catrin. Little Black Lies by Sharon Bolton Mystery involving missing children and a friendship gone wrong. Good read.

message 11: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments B. Benjamin Button The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by F. Scott Fitzgerald novella about a baby born an old man. He gets younger as time goes by which causes more than a few problems. Sparsley written which leaves the reader free to imagine.

A. Angie. Hondo by Louis L'Amour . Angie is the frontier woman in this story of skirmishes between the Apache and the settlers. Interesting.

Mercia McMahon (merciamcmahon) | 606 comments I'm about to start an A-Z of authors primarily to whittle down my paperback TBR shelf. Unfortunately, I have an abundance of B and M authors, so maybe a character A-Z might help to mop up those in a year's time.

Thats whats really nice about this one - you can usually find one main character - at least in the early stages! Hope I've not spoken too soon.

message 14: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments L. Lea. Midnight Sun (Blood on Snow, #2) by Jo Nesbø . Reasonably short. Big cheese's after employee who has fled to the north. Lots of humour, good story and not too much violence (for scandicrime).

message 15: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments G. Genna. Black Girl/White Girl by Joyce Carol Oates . Pennsylvania done! Ok story.

message 16: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments W. William Wisting. Dregs (William Wisting #6) by Jørn Lier Horst . Enjoyable Scandicrime. Left feet are being washed up. New to me author.

Sue | 1296 comments T. Tyler. Twilight by William Gay lad with a sad upbringing is hunted by killer after he and his sister find out about the goings on of the local undertaker.

message 18: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments R. Roy. The Good Liar by Nicholas Searle

Sue | 1296 comments Y. Yeong-hye The Vegetarian by Han Kang . Really didnt like this much. Should have stayed with scandi crime - although no idea of main character when started!

message 25: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1296 comments Q. Q by Michael Ridpath. A short story that dropped into my email box about financial traders.
