10 graphic novels in The Walking Dead series complete, earning credit for 1st book in goal. (Really read 12 so far, but first 2 were rereads).
First series book completed: Vicious Circle. That's pathetic. Halfway through February and I'm just now finishing my first real series book. Lots of comics, but still. I need a kick in the ass.

Don't feel bad. At least you've been reading. I'm still trying to get through my 2nd book of the year!
I know I set my GR 2016 Reading Challenge Widget to 12, but I was expecting to read more than that.
Thanks, Nyssa! This was actually my second real book that I started in this year. The others were carryovers from 2015 or comics. But it's something, and I'll take it. I set my goal to 100, knowing that I was going to be tackling the entire Walking Dead series. Otherwise it would be closer to 80.
More than 3 years after starting The Fionavar Tapestry, I finally finished book 3: The Darkest Road.
My returns to series are usually:The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever
Otherland
You really set the bar high for the rest of us. :D
Finished Jarka Ruus and The Walking Dead, Vol. 23: Whispers Into Screams. That last one completes my second set of graphic novels (10 counts as 1 series book). That brings my total for the year to 7 of my goal of 30. Just a touch behind pace, but not by much.
Been a while since I read any Terry Brooks. I swore off him for a while.I am going to have to resurrect my series challenge thread at some point and get a couple of series finished.
Wow, this is such a cool challenge! If I wasn't doing the A-Z challenge in Fantasy Book Club, I would join, but perhaps I will wait until next year to make a challenge for myself here. :)
Chris wrote: "The trick is to read books that fit in multiple groups/challenges."That's true, and if anything I would make a series goal to finish all the series I started and liked in the A-Z challenge.
Chris wrote: "I see you're already kinda doing that with Erikson and Sullivan ;)"I just couldn't wait! :)
Finished A Gathering of Shadows last night. It took me awhile to get through, but it was distractions and other stuff that kept me from listening to audio. I can't even blame it on reading slump. But it's a good one. Left hanging quite a bit at the end, but it happens.
Chris wrote: "Finished Straken tonight, and with it The High Druid of Shannara Trilogy."Congratulations on completing a series!!!
Okay, today I finished Death Without Company, which is #2 in the Longmire series. I also finished Age of Myth, but it's a re-read and I counted it last year. With my re-read and first-in-series restrictions, I did fall short of my goal of 30. I got 20, with graphic novels and short stories factored in at 10 = 1 full book. I won't likely finish anything else by New Year's, except a stand-alone I'm working on.
I felt I did pretty good though. I did knock out an entire Shannara trilogy, as well as the entire Black Sun's Daughter series. A few others here and there. I did start a lot of new series though. Ah well.
I also hadn't counted on finishing a coding certification in the summer and starting back to college full time, when I set that initial goal. So with all that, I feel I did pretty good.
