Beautiful Redemption (The Maddox Brothers, #2) by Jamie McGuire really enjoyed this and the previous book in the series
both 4 star reads for me.

Beautiful Sacrifice (The Maddox Brothers, #3) by Jamie McGuire I don`t know how JM got it so wrong with the third book, I gave it 2 stars and I was kind
compared to others who gave it 1 star and in some cases no stars, I was a poor book

Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop So I ended up reading this next, thinking I will just give it a go, I have always
passed this series by, without a second glance, as they don`t look like they would be very interesting. However
with so many people raving about them and after reading the first. I was totaly side tracked from my current reads

So also read Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop and currently reading Vision in Silver (The Others, #3) by Anne Bishop

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9661 comments Reading Blood in Her Veins Nineteen Stories from the World of Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter because I missed some Jane Yellowrock shorts.

Val gotta admit that I haven't read any/many of Jane's shorties. You'll have to let me know whether I've gotta read em :)

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9661 comments Sandra wrote: "Val gotta admit that I haven't read any/many of Jane's shorties. You'll have to let me know whether I've gotta read em :)"

Depends what you are looking for and how much you like the Jane Yellowrock universe. This book's got all the previous published shorts in one place so I like it a lot. As the author said in her foreword those stories are to investigate side storylines (like where does JY comes from and what she did before the events in the series) and other character's POV. Some shorts are scenes from Bruiser 's and Rick's POV, some are adventures of Rick and the Everhart's POV with Jane as a secondary character. It flesh out the JY universe but are not necessary if you are not a fan of the series.

Does that make sense and answer your question?
I personally loved all the ones I've read so far and will probably rate it a 5 stars.

Sandra | 25908 comments I love JY. So looks like I'll have to read em :D

The Girl from Everywhere (The Girl from Everywhere, #1) by Heidi Heilig
I enjoyed the use of time-travel in this book. It was pretty interesting. I liked the characters, the book was a little slow at times, but overall really interesting. Gave it ★★★.5

Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley
I've seen so many rave about this series, so thought I'd give it a go. It was also the first time I read anything by this author, so I didn't really know what to expect. I listened to this book on audio and the narrator had a pretty squaky voice, which was pretty annoying at times. I liked the story it was very fast-paced and everything. Gave it ★★★★

Conspiracy in Death (In Death, #8) by J.D. Robb
I nearly cried when Eve was suspended from her work in this book. Eve being a detective isn't only her job, but who she is, so how would she know how to act in a situation like this. Loved how Roarke handled it, both in the beginning being the concerned husband he is, but later also how he made sure she didn't feel too sorry for herself. I love these books. Gave it ★★★★★

The Next Always (Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy #1) by Nora Roberts
I really enjoyed this book. The setting was beautiful and I could definitely see how this Inn was going to look like. The book had the addition of small school kids, who added a lot of cuteness to the story, there was the fun addition of a ghost, and then I'd really love a job like the MC carrie had in this book. Gave it ★★★★.5

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness
This is a book I've put off reading for quite a while. Partly because of it's size, it's a bit of a chunkster. Although the pace throughout the whole book was a bit slow, I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I'm definitely going to continue with the series. Gave it ★★★★

Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost
I love the Night Huntress Universe. I was so happy to finally see some more of Vlad in this book. I loved every minute of this, and I really enjoy the audios, because the narrator is really great. Gave it ★★★★★

Iron Crowned (Dark Swan, #3) by Richelle Mead
These books just have so many different things happening. How Eugenie could even think of going back to Kiyo I'll never understand. I'm totally team Dorian. Kiyo is such a control freak over Eugenie, and how he acts toward the end is completely crazy. Can't wait for the last book. I gave the book ★★★★★

Now I'm working on:
Friday Night Bites (Chicagoland Vampires, #2) by Chloe Neill The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, #3) by Rick Riordan

Next up:
Untraceable (Tracers, #1) by Laura Griffin City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6) by Cassandra Clare

I'm currently reading Comment se débarrasser du diabète de type 2 sans chirurgie ni médicament by Normand Mousseau .

While I'm not suffering from type 2 diabetes my husband does and has for years, he's now injecting insulin because pills are no longer sufficient. It is not a recognized treatment but some studies do point toward it. What I like about this method is that the hypotheses on which it stands comes from scientific studies. The problem is that the groups are small and can't have a great value statistically speaking but it's a start to understand the mechanisms of diabetes instead of treating the symptoms.

We (I mean he's going to try it and me encouraging him) are starting a 2 months 'diet' to see if it can help him manage his blood sugar better.

Shards of Hope (Psy-Changeling, #14) by Nalini Singh I loved this book too, like
yourself enjoyed seeing the couples from previous books. This
series looks to be going in a good direction. I also look forward to
finding out more about the new packs mentioned.
I have enjoyed the last few books but thought lately the series was
consentrating too much on the psy relationships and not enough
on the changelings. But this last book it kind of leveled out,
Its all looking good for future books.

Read all the books so far in this series and enjoyed them,
I kind of look on them as holiday reads. I usually take couple of them
with me to read while travelling. Its been a good series and where
I live, these books are a favourite in all the libraries. I own the first book
a well read secondhand copy, bought in a charity shop.
Good job the library has plenty of copies, because I have never seen
this series in any book shop over here.
Have to say the audiobooks are terrible and should be avoided
quite the worst I have ever listened to, one was enough, really
cringe worthy.

Glad to have finished off that series. I do not understand all those 5 star ratings it's gotten though. I wasn't super happy with the ending, the book was unnecessary long, and I felt like it took forever to get to the end. That said it wasn't completely awful so I ended up giving it 3 stars. Which i think was generous.

Also finished these:
Playing With Poison (Cue Ball Mysteries, #1) by Cindy Blackburn The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, #1) by James Patterson

I thought the first 3 books were good. It was supposed to be a trilogy at first. It's so obvious in the plot. It would have been a good series had it ended there. It annoyed me that it kept shifting between several POV. It made the pace of the story that much slower. The first 3 books were only from Clary's POV.

So happy Gin finally got some closure with Donovan. For me this book was right up there with venom. That's how much I liked it. I couldn't not give it 5 stars. Also happy that Brea is finally changing her opinion about Gin a bit, she's been grating on my nerves the past 2 books, and Owen is just perfect for Gin.
