I wish sometimes that I lived in Colorado instead of Texas. But would rather live in New Mexico than either, just a personal opinion : )

and welcome to YLTO!!

Oh I'm quite old enough to remember Joe Friday :) I sounds like a really interesting book.

even though Goodreads calls me Lippes my real name is Peter and I'm from Germany. I simply love reading, ever did and I always have a book with me. Always! Everywhere!
Even though I'm not a fast reader. Maybe I'm not just not clever enough... but my own challenge of reading at least 30 books this year really is a tough one for me.
What kind of books do I read? I started with historic fiction but somehow they almost all follow the same plot and so I broke with them. Now I prefer crime novels or temporary fiction and I really love the American authors such as Joey Goebel, Annie Proulx, John Irving or T.C.Boyle. Unfortunately my English isn't too good to read them in their own words - so I usually have to wait until they're translated into German, which is sometimes quite annoying.
While waiting I love to read some European writers. Like Geert Mak, Harry Mulisch, Benedict Wells,... Especially I love those who have their own way of writing or telling a story like Wolf Haas.
Well and enjoying goodreads now for quite a while I thought maybe I should try out this group thing. I'm not too sure about the challenges but I do love the idea of buddy reading. Would be great to find buddies and friends around here and to read your thoughts and comments on all those wonderful books! So of course you're very welcome to add or comment whenever you like :)
Right now I've started "All the light we cannot see" and honestly it takes me a while to get into this book... Anyway, enough of me. Looking forward to read you all...:)

Don't worry about your reading speed. it is much more important that you enjoy what you read. look forward to see what you get to read this year and maybe have a buddy read or two.

Hi Konnie. The good thing about online book groups is that you can chat whenever you want, and about whatever book you want.
