I bought The Golem and the Jinni for a buddy read that starts Saturday, because I last minute decided that I want to read the real book and not the ebook I have. And, to avoid shipping costs, I also got A Man Called Ove.

Both great buys!!
I just bought Hartland's Medical and Dental Hypnosis. I've been reading the 3rd edition but it's a bit dated. So that will go back on the shelf and I'll start again with the 4th edition. This is for my course. A bit of light reading!
I broke down an picked up two books in Audible's 2-1 sale:Snow Crash
The Palace Job
I also grabbed a couple of cheap Kindle books:
The Obsidian Chamber
Behind Closed Doors
The Long Hard Road Out of Hell
I bought To the End of the Land by David Grossman, Pago Pago Tango by John Enright, and The Hunting Gun by Yasushi Inoue, two of which are for group reads coming up.
@Janice - do you fancy buddy reading Snow Crash at some point. I tried reading it before and had to put it aside but i really want to read it. I vaguely remember Travis saying it would be a good buddy read book because of some of the themes. I'm in no hurry though.
I'm curious what you'll think of Marilyn Manson's AB Janice. I really liked it. He is an intelligent guy.
I've just gone a mini Ancient Greece/mythology kick. I picked up:The King Must Die
The Bull from the Sea
The Last of the Wine

I'm fading fast and have to pack yet. 3:15 am will come fast.
Sarah wrote: "I'm curious what you'll think of Marilyn Manson's AB Janice. I really liked it. He is an intelligent guy."I think a lot of people dismiss him because of the image he presents. I've seen him in interviews and he seems like a very interesting person.
I picked up two books in the Audible 2-1 sale.
The Danish Girl
The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum
I forgot! Along with my textbook, I also bought Marabou Stork Nightmares which will be my final book of the geocache challenge (set in South Africa). I downloaded a kindle sample and it intrigued me enough to buy it. It might take a bit to get in to as quite a bit of the text is written with a Scottish accent!

End of the year -work related- is hellish for me.
My Death of Dulgath paperback preorder has been cancelled :( It was supposed to be available from Nov 1 but it has no been taken from the website of my online webshop and my order has been cancelled.Lisa, didn't you also preorder for Nov 1?
I just picked up Small Great Things
from Audible. I had it from the library, but had to return it before I had a chance to read it. I figured, since I have to wait until I move to join a new library, then get to the end of the queue again, I might as well just buy it. It is one that I really want to read anyway. Plus, I may have more time to listen while I unpack than I will to physically read a book.
Peggy wrote: "My Death of Dulgath paperback preorder has been cancelled :( It was supposed to be available from Nov 1 but it has no been taken from the website of my online webshop and my order has been cancelle..."Yes, I did Peggy. I have had similar problems. I preordered from Amazon UK but then I got an email two days after it was meant to arrive saying that it wasn't available yet and that they needed more time to provide me with an estimated delivery date. It's now saying temporarily unavailable on Amazon. My order hasn't been cancelled but I don't think it's going to turn up anytime soon :(
Peggy wrote: "My Death of Dulgath paperback preorder has been cancelled :( It was supposed to be available from Nov 1 but it has no been taken from the website of my online webshop and my order has been cancelle..."Send Michael an PM and ask if he knows why it's not available in the UK through Amazon. He self published this book and he's very approachable.
I got Medieval Underpants and Other Blunders: A Writer's (and Editor's) Guide to Keeping Historical Fiction Free of Common Anachronisms, Errors, and Myths today
Peggy wrote: "I bought The Muse, it's a kindle/kobo deal today."I checked Amazon.ca and Kobo, and it was still top dollar. $13.99
:( Too bad Janice! Sorry to have made you happy for no reason. Amazon was also something like that for me, but Kobo worked.
Peggy wrote: "I bought The Muse, it's a kindle/kobo deal today."That was a good grab, Peggy! I bought it in hardback when it was first published. Would you be interested in doing a buddy read of it at some point? Maybe sometime in the new year?
You read my thoughts Lisa. I planned on asking for a buddy read in the new year as soon as I read here that someone else bought it ;-) I'll open a thread for it and we can talk there about the starting date.
I have Eragon on my ereader too Lisa, but I don't seem to get around to reading it. If you ever feel like doing another buddy read in 2017... ;-)
Peggy wrote: "I have Eragon on my ereader too Lisa, but I don't seem to get around to reading it. If you ever feel like doing another buddy read in 2017... ;-)"I would be happy to buddy read it with you next year, Peggy. Maybe we could read it in the spring sometime?
Great! :) Do you want to set a start date now or shall we leave it for the time being and work out a date once we get into 2017?
I'll probably forget if we plan it for so far away, so let's do it in 2017. Worked out well for the golem and the djinni buddy read :)
Peggy wrote: "I'll probably forget if we plan it for so far away, so let's do it in 2017. Worked out well for the golem and the djinni buddy read :)"That's fine with me :) I will probably forget as well if we plan too far ahead!
I think you'll really like The Last Kingdom, Lisa. I have learnt a lot about our history from it. And I nearly passed it by as it's not much usual genre and I thought it might be dry and boring. But I was so wrong!
It was because of you I decided to buy it, Sarah :) I'm not the biggest fan of that period of history but it sounds pretty good.
Sarah wrote: "I just bought The Quantum Thief. Sounds suitably confusing enough to be an entertaining read."Lol, I see what you mean! Confusing indeed!
