Dublin, Ireland but have been in SA for 20 years, since I was 23. Joberg for 15, Pretoria for 5 (great place to live..)
Brackenfell, Cape Town. I have stayed in Pofadder, Kuruman, Virginia, Grootfontein, Usakos, Sasolburg, Somerset West.
Hi everybody, just found this group. I'm from Tanzania currently in USA. Never been in SA but planning to visit there someday maybe during the world cup.
I'm not from South Africa. I'm from the Netherlands, namely Haarlem. It's between Amsterdam and the coast.
Ooooh I'm the outsider...born & bred in the USA, Kansas to be exact...but try not to hold it against me ;-) I LOVE Wilbur Smith novels...especially River God...and this was the first group I found that is reading his work.
Welcome Steph! If you love Wilbur Smith this is the place for you! And hopefully we can introduce you to other wonderful authors!
I'm always open to suggestions! I'm reading The Time Traveller's Wife right now...keep hearing good things about it...so far so good. :-)

Hi I just finnished a few days ago and really loved it. Something totally different but in a good way, it took me a few chapters to get into but once I did I couldn't put it down.
"I have just finished reading the book and I have to say I loved it. It’s been a long time since I have read a book with such real characters. Which is what made them so endearing to me. I think often we fall into the trap of reading books with these perfect hero's and heroine, whose flaws and faults, if they have any are always some how appealing or at least spun in there favour. (If you know what I mean) These Hollywoodesque icons that are all about fantasy and being bigger, better and more then your average man or woman. I suppose when you are reading a book about time travel that is what you expect, if the premise of the book is that of fantasy why not the characters? But for myself at least, I think it was the very realism of the characters that gave the book such credibility. And beside Clare and Henry weren't that bad! Well at least not the literary monsters some of you implied they were on earlier posts :)
I’m very interested to see if they have put a Hollywood spin on the characters for the movie!"
