⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) description

Back in September 2014, Foreman Paris hosted a Read a Book Day Challenge. Vanessa suggested a similar idea in the Suggestions thread in 2015 for the following January, but was unable to host it, so I volunteered to take a swing at it as my Foreman Challenge for the month.

How Tos:
Read a book a day. If you’re a slower reader and can’t finish a book in a day, the challenge is to read 200 pages or for 1 hour, whichever you can manage.

Bonus Round! I’m putting down a list of holidays or special parts of January for each of the 31 days of the month. Your challenge is to find books to correspond to each one and finish it within 24 hours of starting it. The guideline is to start/read the book on the date indicated in the list.

Re-reads are allowed, except if you are in the bonus round and it notates that a re-read would not be feasible.
Books can be in any format, including Audiobook!
Books must be a minimum of 200 pages, unless notated in the bonus round option.
You are also welcome to use the Bonus Round Option to Mix and Match, if you are a slower reader and can’t finish a book a day.

Bonus Option:
January 1: Read a New To You Author (No Re-Reads!)
January 2: National Buffet Day-Read a book by an author you could gorge on
January 3: Festival of Sleep Day!-Read a book with a bed on the cover
January 4: Trivia Day-Read a book with a mystery element in it

I would totally count the textbooks! The goal of the challenge is to have you reading every day, so by my way of thinking, reading to learn certainly counts!

1. Of course!
2. I ran into this problem myself, because I wanted to use a buddy read book for January 28th. Problem was, I had it scheduled for January 6th! Ultimately, I decided it would be best if my selections matched up on the actual day, otherwise what was the point of doing the specific holidays? The challenge is for your enjoyment, but my guideline is that you should read the bonus options on the specific day they come up.

Progress: 6 out of 31

Bobbi, you're not a failure! All our challenges are for your enjoyment, so as long as you had fun attempting it, we mods have done our job! Even if you got only 1-2 books read on the challenge, it's better than not having attempted it at all! Besides, didn't you mention you were in a college course this month? That had to contribute to not having much time to read what you really wanted to!

This challenge is tough for folks because it can't be separated into levels. My challenge for next month will be a bit easier!
